Moderate to Good
I really need to do something here again. It's been way too long, hasn't it?
The fair was tiring, especially as we didn't really have quite enough time to recover from the previous one.
Besides that there was role-playing last Thursday, when we almost lost another party-member (from the same player who had already lost his first one, in fact). The party's starting to get to the end of it's resources, right about now. Damn!
Saturday was my qualifying match for the Chaos Arena Championships, which saw me through to the quarter finals. Although I had made a slight miscalculation in my opponent, my offensive tactics did pay off in the end. I had sent my Mage, after having him totally buffed, to the front line, doing massive damage before my main troops got in there. I retained my advantage to the end, although my opponent also made two pretty bad errors at pivotal points in the game, which could have cost me greatly. My next match is on the 15th of July, then.
My vacation started today. I took the opportunity to remain in bed untill, well, 13:30-ish. It's not 'till Friday that I head for the Anime-con, so untill then, I'll see how I can entertain myself. Woohoo!
Well, here is what's going on, then. We are, you see, sitting here, behind this laptop, on the Sunday-night. Right. That much we know, then.
Yesterday my sis' birthday got celebrated. It's been a year, and she thought it might be about time to have another go at that.
Today was Father's Day in this here speck of the Globe, so I spent the day with him at the Cricket club. I gave him a blow-up doll. The cricketmatch was won by 'our' team, which is good, I guess. They are doing pretty well this year, so I've heard, having a serious shot at promotion to the highest level for next season. Whatever floats their boat, I guess...
One more week of hard labour, and we're done. Wahey! Untill then, I'll try to, you know, keep at it and, well, do stuff.
Anyways, as I can't really think of anything to write here right now, I'll stick to
Heyhey, everybody! Today we celebrate the arrival of the weekend, and if I would only manage to get my spellimg back to it's usual level, I could make this post very interesting.
Then again... Nah, why bother.
Yesterday's session. I guess we got in over our heads, there. Very messy, it was. We're in for a lot of fun next week. I hope I'll be able to make it, then.
We had three fights, each one nastier than the other. Seriously. I found myself grabbed by some funny sentinel-machine at one point, taking some pretty bad damage. Then there were the 4 guys with the napalm-flamethrower. We took out three of them, the fourth is tied up for questioning.
As for long-term character development, we had a funny idea that might just be interesting for my Leadership Feat I'll have to take. How about the cohort and all the followers being Bards too?
Anyways, today at work was uneventful (read: boring), as we had most of the work done already. Next week is the fair, then, and after that, it's two weeks of piss! Ehrm... I mean Peace.
I know it's been a while. Ah well, such is life, I guess.
Although the fair was less work than we expected due to weather issues (the first week in a while that temperatures exceeded 300 degrees), I didn't post. It wasn't due to lack of time, but more due to, well, reading, surfing, other works, and general stuff.
I had my first official front-page post at the GamesFM site last Saturday, concerning tv-audiences. I'm supposed to be doing more of those on a regular basis now. Which means I'll be slowly slipping more into the foreground. Oooooh.
I took sweet pleasure from today's day off. I bought my sis' birthday-present, and got myself the 3.5 DMG II while I was at it. And some new dice, too, by the way.
Right now, I'm trying to pick up on my project again (it's been off for the week due to both work and an impasse on where to go next), and if all goes well, I should be getting it back up to speed this week. We'll see, I'm trying my best.
Ah yes. Monday. Today was a mandatory day off, so I took the opportunity to relax. That is, except for the time I spent on Metroid Prime. Damn, that thing is rock-hard when it wants to be.
Anyways, Bart has been given a goal, rather by accident, but it should work out okay. You see, he shall be a Summoner. Or, well, at least, that's how he's going to be played out. The DM said he's going to see what the possibilities will be.
How did we come to this? Well, I'll tell you. After going to a volcanic island were part of our crew got lost in a battle with the locals, we needed to recruit some help. So we 'recruited' some locals. When we then went back to the island we had come from (we had gone to the volcanic one in order to gather some fire-earth elementals), we used our new 'recruits' to, you know, carry our stuff and pull our carts, as they were cheaper than horses. You know, it's only logical. Anyways, four of the six we 'kindly asked' to perform this task used the first opportunity they got to 'desert'. So we had to get them back.
Looking for them, we finally found them in some backwards neighbourhood, talking to some guy. When the two who had 'asked' them to pull the cart 'tried to convince' them to come back with us, they attempted to run off again. So instead of following them, I decided to try out my newly acquired lvl. 1 spell, Summon Monster I. Basically, when trying to run, 'suddenly' there appeared a, ehm, well, a Fiendish Hawk about 5 feet before him. He tore one of our 'helps' into little pieces, went on to attack the lad the four had been talking to, then disappeared. Needless to say, upon seeing a fucking big, nasty looking bird eating one of their friends, the other three were more easily persuaded to come along with us (at least, they weren't trying to run in that particular direction anymore), and we got them back on our ship. Were they got branded.
Nice, aren't we?
Anyways, that's my bit for the day. Do not forget to sign up for International Weblogger's Day, next week on the 14th, okay?
Well, worked today too. I'll inform you about the interesting stuff: Last Thursday.
We had a messy fight with some lizardmen when still on the boat. Took quite some damage all in all, but survived. The boat didn't make it, though, so we had to leave it there and continue on foot.
We marched the remainder of the distance, circling some village we came by, and ended up at the temple two hours in advance. There was no way to enter, though, so we had to wait. My character spent two hours trying to convince the door to open by talking to it...
That was all we had time for, though. The door opened after me talking to it long enough, and time was up for our session.
Before playing, though, we had this little questionaire which we had to fill in so the DM would know what we were aiming for with our characters. It wasn't an easy thing to fill in by any means, but I managed.
I put in some little twists that might make the game interesting. You see, one of our party-members has consistently been whining about wanting a Squirrel familiar. What I did, then, was give my character an irrational fear for rodents. That should work, right?
Anyways, tomorrow I play again, and then it's fair week, so, you know, busy.
