What the... I wouldn't know what to pollute this space with tonight.

Monday, February 27, 2006

Why on Earth do I have to come up with these stupid titles each and every single day? Don't you realize how much of a hassle they are? Seriously!

And so we have that, the Monday, once again. Don't you sometimes feel like they should have invented more names for the days, just so you could have some more variation? I mean, there's only seven of them...

Due to my having this fair off-duty, I start at 08:30 tomorrow, in stead of having to be there at 06:15. Now there's a difference that'll be felt! I could just dance from joy...

Haven't gotten any big things planned for the week. I'll probably still get some extra hours in, even though it's technically not necessary for me to do so. Thus, I have to remain flexible. Anyways, it's not as if I actually have a life anyhow...

I've been pretty much fighting with my internet-connection tonight. Lost that damned connection times already. I guess this WiFi isn't always as stable as I'd like it to be...

For some reason, the third episode of Gravitation is missing. Damn! And I really didn't want to skip...

I've been told the Winter Games are over. That's funny. I didn't even notice they were being held...

I really need to get rid of that habit of not changing my MSN-status. Once again, someone tried getting in touch with me while I wasn't around to answer...

I really badly need to reorganize around here. A couple of DVD-stands would do to start clearing up a considerable amout of shelf-space again, so I can start rearranging my manga...

Maybe I should get a raised bed, with cupboards underneath for storage. Or a futon, that wouldn't take up a lot of the space needed for storage...

There's a couple of things that, for some reasons, I just can't get out of my head. I know it's bad, but it can't be helped...

It's about time something interesting happened around here...

Anyways,

See ya!

Show me a moose!

Hello! How are you today? Everything according to plan?

I completed my Manga overview today. Glad that's over with!

Other than that, well... It was my only day off this weekend, so I made good use of it, doing little more than nothing. I got some of my other work done, and watched a couple of anime. Also some reading. Oh, and the Rugby, of course. Shouldn't forget about that. And while I'm at it, I had the A1GP running as well, in a background kind of way. But other than that, well, like I said, not much.

Otherwise, well, I don't have all that much to tell you as of now. So,

See ya!

Gooey substances are gooey!

Yay!

Half a day's work in the morning. Six Nations in the afternoon. Some random surfing in the evening. Now down to some anime, and later some manga.

As you can see, not all that much of any interest today.

See ya!

Periods

***ADVERTISSEMENT***

***ADVERTISSEMENT***

So then, with only a couple of hours to go tomorrow, it would seem as if this week is over.

Luckily, I have no fair-duties next week. I don't have to wake up at ungodly hours just to be in time to leave for Belgium. So there's a point of rejoicing there!

Yesterday I had a Vizitôhr, as jzz came over. This was the cause of my absence, as we were busy playing Chaos Arena while I should have been here.

Today I got back into Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi, and I also still have a lot of reading to do. So much shit, so little time, I guess. Ah well, it could be worse. I could have barbed wire wrapped around my scrotum, with high voltage running through. That is, well, an extreme example, but you catch my general direction here, right?

For now, though, I'll leave you to yourselves. I'm guessing you can keep yourselves entertained, right?

See ya!

I'll be back tomorrow!

Taxidermy for beginners

**YAAAWN**

Feeling tired today. Must be low on HP. Ah well, I guess it happens.

Needless to say, then, I didn't get all that much done today. It's just the routine of work, followed by anime and some reading. So there you have it. I'm not going to transform this into an unnecessarily long post either, then.

See ya!

Pachyderm

Wowzers. That was Day 1, I guess. Or Monday, if you prefer. Either way, the week's well underway again. *sigh*

Next week is our next fair, then. In Fucking Leuven (I think that's the actual name...), Belgium. Yay! That means more long hours! I don't even want to think about what time I'll be back home that Sunday - let's just say it'll probably be a couple of hours into the Monday by then...

Ah well, I'll just have to try and catch as much "down-time" as I can then. Which is why I spent the afternoon watching anime and reading manga again. You know, the passive pass-times, in stead of the active ones.

So then, continuing on with the Ultra-Relax, I'll just leave you with:

See ya!

Haruka kanata

And here we go again. Today I did as little as possible, what with all the work I've done last week, and will probably have the next couple of weeks too.

So in stead of only continuing the cyberizing of my manga collection, I actually read some of them today. Well, A.I. Love You, mostly. And I found some time (yeah, right) to watch 9 episodes of Ai Yori Aoshi as well. All in all, it was rather productive on the hobby department, then. Actually, it was one of the most productive days in quite some time as far as that goes. I even found myself a new webcomic read, and I'm currently doing that good old archive-wading thing that always takes just too much time. Ah well...

All things considering, I believe I managed to pretty much catch up on that much needed rest. Great! Now to throw all I've gained out of the window as I go back to work again tomorrow! Working yesterday has really thrown my biorhythm around, it doesn't quite feel like a Sunday...

Anyways,

See ya!

My keys are doing funny things

So then, today I worked from 08:15 'till 14:45. I spent that time pricing the manga we got, so it wasn't all bad! I brought home the remainder of my purchase - 50 books, as I said, and I only filled in the gaps, didn't start on anything new...

Now I'm just kicking back. Reading A.I. Love You, and I have four episodes of Ai Yori Aoshi waiting when I get through my current book. So I'll be around for a bit still, then.

I started work on an online overview of my manga-collection, just for the hell of it. It's nowhere near complete yet, but I'm getting there, slowly but surely.

By the way, speaking of additions and chenges - how do you people like the new colour-scheme? I'm still just experimenting with the whole thing, but, you know, except for the pink being slightly too light, in my eyes, I like the way it's looking so far. Then again, I have been known for having bad taste. Or being weird, for that matter.

Anyways, I'll be leaving you here now, as I want to watch my series before it's too late.

See ya!

Kuru Kuru Kururin

Weeeeell...

Overtime is the tomorrow. Delayed, the weekend is.

Cheap the Manga were. 50 I bought. I had to restrain myself.

Some minor changes to template (if you consider a shitload of pink "minor").

Started an overview of my manga-collection on this here blog, too. Out of boredom, mainly, as I have the list ready on my laptop anyways, but hey, I felt like doing it.

I'm going to try experimenting some more, template-wise, in the near future. For example, I have this feeling that the pink is too light as it is, and it might be better to get a slightly darker pink.

The things one occupies oneself with, right?

But otherwise, well...

I still have a lot of reading to do. In fact, as you have read already, I now have even more reading to do...

Ah well, such is life!

See ya!

Momo to ringo

Glumph. Patiently awaiting the announcement of the Tokyopop's prices. Last time around, they were € 1,99, and as this time the quantity is higher, market-principles would state that the purchase-price would have been lower than they were then. So it would seem logical to have similar prices at worst.

After work, it was right back to work, as I had to get some things done for the radio-station. There's still a lot to be done, and I'll probably be on it for a significant part of tomorrow-evening and maybe even into the weekend as well, but hey, it's all part of life. And I like messing around with them numbers, so it's okay.

One more day before the weekend, then. Thank Odd it's going to be Friday, I guess. It was fun foraging through those first two pallets of Manga, but as the remainder of them will be unpacked later, that fun is over for the moment. Untill we get to pricing them, of course. Which they'll probably be leaving to me again. That is, if they know what's good for them...

As for now, I finished the work I wanted done by today, and made a start on the stuff I had planned for tomorrow and the weekend. Now, I'm going to kick back a little. I have the second episode of FLCL ready, so that's what I'll do first, and after which I'll get to either or A.I. Love You or Seikai Trilogy 1: Crest of the Stars. But I'll decide on that once I get there, right?

Anyways,

See ya!

Mahō shōjo

Hello, how are you today? Spending all day knee-deep in manga has left me in rather a good mood, and I'm afraid my collection will be significantly increased again in the very near future. Still, one has to keep oneself busy, right?

I spent a significant part of the evening updating my collection-overview (which was heavily overdue, by the way), and I'm all set for filling up gaps.

Which means I'll then have even more stuff I still have to read. And it's not even con-time yet...

So I'll get right back on it.

See ya!

Dakishimetai no ni

I'm glad to see I'm back in time from my lecture for a blog-entry.

The lecture was interesting, although somewhat disappointing in that the actual "origin of life" part, which was supposed to be, you know, the thing the lecture was about, was rushed due to time-restrictions...

At work, we have received another load of TokyoPop Manga. Last time, it was around 250 books, and I took home 43 for myself. This time, we've got 5 whole pallets of the stuff. Hmmmm...

Otherwise, well, not much more to say, really.

So I'm back to Chobits. Almost at the end of it!

See ya!

Hanaji

Did anyone say "Thank God it's Monday"? Anyone? Anyone at all?

Heh. Thought not. Ah well, I'm not going to, either, so don't look at me, okay. Just blame it on the neighbours, if you must, but just remember, it's not the dog's fault. He had nothing to do with it.

In any case, it would seem that the pet-llama from next door has been projectile-sneezing through the open window again, and there's quite a bit of phlegm laying around the parking lot. Glad my bicycle is not over there, then. I wouldn't want to have to sit in that sticky goo.

But, as we all should know, you can't very well go and blame the llama for that. It's not his fault he has been called upon to replace the moose, it's merely a case of bad subtitles.

(Bonus point for anyone who has any idea where that just came from.)

Next up is what on Earth happened today. If you want to know - read the newspapers! I didn't. I didn't catch any news today. I was at work. So there.

Thing is, though, I can't wait 'till tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that lecture - it's been quite a while since I last attended one, you see. Too long, if you ask me. And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for these meddlin' kids!

Oh, I'm losing track again!

The short of it is: Work, Anime, Food, Anime, Blog, Anime. That's my day in three words, with one of them repeating itself, and one of them not counting as an actual word. It's up to you to decide which that one is, though.

As things stand right now (which, in fact, they don't, as most of them are just hanging around), it would seem that the Sun is someplace where I can't see it directly, and for some reason, it appears to have decided to remain in hiding for the next couple of hours. I can't wait for it to show up again, though, as it would be quite nice for it to come here and warm this place up for a change. I've basically pretty much had it with the cold by now, it's just not funny anymore!

But enough of my complaining. I'll leave you with this post which has been lengthier, but far less informative than my previous ones, and say to you my usual thing, which is:

Shove it up your arse!

I'm sorry, I meant to say

See ya!

Diapers

And so, the weekend comes to an end. It was a rather uneventful day for me, as I spent most of the day reading some Manga, watching Chobits, and watching today's Six Nations fixture. But then again, it is Sunday, and I do need my rest.

Next Tuesday I'm attending a lecture on the origins of life, which should be interesting. I'm looking forward to that one, I am. Here's hoping it doesn't disappoint.

The rest of the evening will be spent on some more Chobits and some more archive wading over at Dork Tower, so I won't be making to big an entry about nothing here today either.

So having said that, it's goodbye for now.

See ya!

Jumper Pak

Today I spent most of the day at my father's place. I had a couple of things to give and/or lend to him, and we used the opportunity to watch the two Six Nations games as well. It's a shame I missed out on the first weekend due to Rotterdam duties, but I don't intend on missing any more than I absolutely need to. There's nothing quite like a good spell of Rugby Union, that's for sure.

However, this means that nothing of any major importance happened to me today. So I am saddened to inform you that this minor bit of info is all you are getting from me today, as I'm going back to watch Chobits.

See ya!

Severian

Rejoice, for at last Friday is upon us!

Today was a pretty easy day on the job. After that, I hung around there for a bit, before going home, and, eventually, passing by my VG-store again. Most certainly not without consequences, though.

For you see, when I wanted to leave again, and go home, I broke my key in the lock of my bike. We actually had to break it open...

If you'll excuse the choice of words: FUCK!

On a more positive note, my AnimeCon 2006 ticket arrived today! Hurrah, I'm all set to go!

Besides that, though, I have not much to say, other than maybe I might not be available in time for blogging tomorrow.

See ya!

Shooboo sha o yonde!

I have been told by some that today has been Thursday. Which is fine by my standards, as it would mean that tomorrow would be Friday, which is thus the last day of work for this week. Yippee!

That means the weekend is at hand. And I'd really enjoy that right about now. I need to catch up on some rest. And I have some things I want to do, too.

First things first, though. After work I spent most of the afternoon resting. I did some reading, and plan on finishing my book tonight - only 40-odd more pages and I'll have completed The Book of the New Sun. I don't know yet what I'll be picking up after that, but since I have quite a bit of options right now, I don't have to be bored.

I watched an episode of both Chobits and FLCL as well. I'm thinking about putting another Chobits on later tonight as well, but that remains to be seen.

Otherwise it's, once again, not much from over here. Just, you know, hanging. In the proverbial sense, that is.

Ah well. Maybe I'll put some more effort in tomorrow's post. You never know.

See ya!

Branch

Well, after yesterday's long story, I find I don't have all that much to tell you about today. I did some work, I did some shopping, and that about covers my main activities. Oh - I did some more work. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?

But besides that, then, there's really not all that much I can tell you about. I know, it souds rather boring, but I kind of enjoy this relative calm for a change.

Hence, I leave you with this rather short update for the day.

See ya!

Snape Kills Dumbledore

And thus, this Blogger started his post for the day. And what a day it was. Tuesday, to be exact.

Recap, then: Sunday, Rotterdam. All went as smoothly as a newborn's left buttock. We were in the clear at around 21:45, which meant I was able to return upon my humble abode even before my bicycle magically returned to it's true pumpkin-state. I felt much joy from that particular fact, as it was not something I had expected. Let us call it the proverbial "pleasant present".

Of course, being home early has yet to become an excuse for me to take my beauty-sleep hastily, and as I have been known to do, I once more took my time to settle down, read a bit and do some dry, web-based surfing before actually laying myself to rest. Though it must be stated that, upon doing so, I felt a relief comparable to having an eightteen-wheeler remove itself from your left foot after having stood on it for well over a fortnight.

I then completely abused my Monday off to remain in bed untill the AM of eleven. Those hours are rather unusual for me, but I most certainly enjoyed the stolen Hours of Idle. But upon the striking of eleven, it was time for yours truly to de-zombify himself and attempt brunch, for I had received the Saturday previously a letter from my local book-store that my ordered copy of Gene Wolfe's The Knight, being part one of The Wizard Knight. Thus my questing began.

The first acquired item was, then, the previously named Ancient Scroll. I decided to expand my quest to Sound-Carrier-Discs and one of those discs they fill with about two hours of sound and about 18.635 image files, all to be displayed in quick succession to give the viewer the idea that he is, in fact, watching actually animated images.

Upon lastly questing for some more Ancient Scrolls (this time of the illustrated kind originating from the Rising Sun. It had been a while, once more, since I had last visited that particular vendor, so it was a pleasant surprise to him that I came to enrich him once more), I had myself transported homewards anew. Arrival there was pleasing, and I used the opportunity to once more place my rump, quickly followed by the remainder of my body, upon the soft horizontal laying contraption in a rather non-subtle manner. I was aware of jzz planning to move a cupboard down, for he had attempted (and succeeded) to reach me the night before when I was unable to come to his help, due to Rotterdam-based activities mentioned previously. This awareness had made me decide to take it easy.

You may have noticed, by the way, that this was the first time since my new employ that I have not misused the entire Monday by spending it at my VG-store.

Anyways, once the eighth hour of the PM arose, I initiated my long, perilous journey across the street, and spent the evening, watching Mythbusters, moving items of furniture, watching what was, I now realize, the first motion picture I have seen this calendar-year and playing a game before the ever ticking clock (which by then already called the day Tuesday) ordered me to at least return my person toward it's natural habitat. Thing is, I actually did not manage to get any sleep in for quite a while then, as you can see here. Ah well, for some reason I did not notice any physical problems with it during this day at work (remember my alarm-clock waking me at 06:00?), and I managed quite well, thank you very much.

Having given you this entire story, though, I must sadden you by telling you that upon return nothing blogworthy occured in my presence anymore. Thus, I must leave you with this, a dramatic story of a young pup and his quest to overcome scurvy on a ship headed for the West-Indies in 1536. Oh, wait, that wasn't it, was it...

See ya!

Vaduz

Just one more day to go as far as Rotterdam is concerned. I'll be glad to hit the sack tomorrow night, I can guarantee you that much. It's been rather, well, tiring.

Then again, my run-up was rather messy too, so it didn't really come as a surprise. But am I ever looking forward to my Monday off...

I'll have to use the opportunity to go and pick up the book I ordered - The Knight, by Gene Wolfe. This means that I now have way too much lying in wait. Ah well...

Still a lot to read, then. I should jump into my stack of manga too, as there's a lot there I haven't read yet. Those should be easier to get rid of, as it reads much faster.

But first things first, tomorrow's day of breaking stuff down. I'm hoping it'll be done rather quickly, but I fear the worst, somehow. I'll be glad to be back home by 00:00...

Otherwise, you know, it's a matter of improvisation with whatever time I find right now. And that's not all that much, really. I would have been able to post last Wednesday, but I lost my connection and my entire post, and I didn't feel like rewriting the whole thing about the build-up, so you'll have to do without. It was one of those "edited for content" posts anyways, so I still had to do some changes to it, but it was a post nonetheless, and now, it's gone.

But I'll be back sometime next week. Maybe Monday, if I feel fit enough (which I usually do in the evening - don't get me started on the mornings though), but not too long after that in any case.

See ya!
