Food Fights

Ooh, blogger server downtime today. Which means post is erased, and in need of retyping. It's also why I'm so late today. Don't feel like rehashing everything, not even entirely sure of former content. Will attempt to repair as best as I can.

Here we go, then. Let's do this!

1:01 In the beginning, there was the ringing of an alarm clock. And the sne awakened, and there was much moaning about having to wake up so early.

1:02 Thereafter, there was a quick breakfast, a trip to work, and the sne went to his work, and there was much acting busy while attempting to do as little as possible.

1:03 And the sne said "let there be weekend", and the weekend came for the sne to relax in, and there was much rejoicing.

1:04 But before entering his weekend, the sne went into town. Upon his arrival, there was the witnessing of a Super Mario Race contest organised by a radio-station. And there was much freezing, as the winds were high and the temperatures were low. And there was much hilarity when the many Mario's ran across the obstacle course.

Okay, so that was tacky. Once again, that's not my problem.

Anyways, there was not much else besides this. There's a weekend ahead where I'm going to do a couple of things of which I may decide to write, but I'll see about that later.

See ya!

Apologies to the one I should be apologizing to

Okay, so I don't usually go out of my way to reply to comments in my entries (I know, I'm rather reader-unfriendly like that), but today you people leave me no choice. I mean, what with LIW and chuck starting a fight about which of my posts is "my best entry ever". How could the both of you miss the effort and thought that went into my September 22nd questionaire? I'm very proud of having come up with 5 totally non-sensical questions! The 6th was just cheating, but that's why it's a bonus question.

Adn woh sed ennithing aboot mai Engrish beeing good? Id'z noht. I categorically deny all accusations and/or implications anyone might come up with based on my chosen vocabulary and/or grammatical style. Also, one cannot prove from a single-specimen example whether or not an entire population group can manage a particular trick with the same level of mastery thereof. This would be scientifically unethical. You need more data to be able to make that statement and not get pounded into the Earth's surface by your peers in the science papers.

As for Faerie: My problem lies not in going to bed late. There's no such thing as "too late to go to bed" as far as I'm concerned. One thing that does create a problem, though, is waking up too damned early.

Down to business, then. Work. My colleagues made a very, very, very big mistake today. I got told to just put some of my CD's in the machine tomorrow. I'll teach them never to do that again.

After that, it was my obliged VG-store visit. Which was fun. I got a Nintendogs, erm, thingy stuck to my head. In preparation for next weeks release. Remember, mom, it's bundled with the console, so no more excuses for not having one very soon!

In the meantime, I'll be enjoying Advance Wars: Dual Strike. My copy of Nintendogs will have to come quite a bit later, sadly. I want to get it once I have some more time to focus on it. Plus, I don't quite know which dogs I want yet. Just like Nintendo to bring out 3 different versions, isn't it?

I also fear VenusBelly's anger right now, as I bought my new game from Manece while she was busy doing something else. *hides behind bench* I'm sorry...

Tomorrow I'll be racing back after work for the real-life Super Mario event held in town. I wonder if it'll be any good. No loss in checking it out, I guess.

Oh, and by the way, after tomorrow the weekend starts. Saturday I'll go check for a WiFi router, so I can get my laptop online, and Sunday I'm busy as well, so it's going to be, well, busy at least, but fun too, I hope.

Other than that, well, I guess I'm not quite in the right state of mind for the same kind of non-sense I plastered my own web-space with last night, so this'll have to do for now. I hope you enjoyed it.

See ya!

Beware the Wednesday!

When oh when am I going to get a hang of waking up early? I mean, every day I'm at work with time to spare, that's not the problem, it's just that I feel, well, dead while I'm there. Especially in the mornings. I wasn't made for waking up early, that's for sure.

Come to think of it - what the heck was I made for? What's the purpose I have. I mean, you can't use me as a building block - at least, not in my current, able-to-run-away state, as a moving building is not yet something you often come by. Would be rather confusing, I guess.

- "Hey, what's your adress?"
- "Well, right now it's on number 17, but seeing as my house is running from the neighbour's dog, I guess it'll be at number 39 by the time I catch up with it!"

For as we all know, running houses tend to run out of steam rather quickly. They have absolutely no stamina for long distance running.

I'm not much use as a hole, either. I mean, I'm not exactly what you would call empty as such, and you can't really fit all that much inside me. No, that's not an invitation to go ahead and try, in case you were wondering.

I might be useful as a paperweight, but I just tend to move too much to make it really practical. And you really wouldn't want to have your paperweight actually read all your papers, would you?

But seriously, my dear readers. For today, as you are all too aware, is Wednesday. And Wednesday means, well, absolutely Jack to be honest, but I just felt like taking a brake from all that non-sense above - but only for a short moment - as I meditate the passing of the first half of my 4-day work week. For I did have last Monday off, for those suffering selective amnesia and/or unable to perform basic archeoblogy upon these here pages.

But you want to know what I did, don't you? I mean, usual protocol is I tell you what I did, isn't it? Well, as I mentioned, there was work. As I also mentioned (yesterday), there was also a visit to the VG-store. I have also been summoned for yet another passage tomorrow. They're taking up all my free-time, they are! Ah well, c'est la vie! I'll just have to reschedule some things planned for tomorrow night onto Saturday, then. The other shops may be open coming Sunday, but I'm busy someplace else, so it'll have to be Saturday, even though it will be bloody crowded then. Maybe if I can wake up early...

So then, back to business. Don't you ever have the feeling you're being watched? You know where that comes from? I mean, usually, it's because someone is actually watching you, but in some cases, like, when you're stuck in the middle of the desert, and there's not a human being within a sphere of a 250 km. radius (not even that guy orbiting in space), you just know no-one is watching. You would be wrong. For you see, I see all! I know, I know, you've probably heard all those rumours about omnipotent, omnipresent, omnibenevolent omnivores before, but I can guarantee you, it's all just stories based on the truth. Truth is, I am all that. But don't start calling me names I have not asked for. sne is god enough (which was a typo, but I decided not to remove when I considered the context). I mean, if there is an Alpha-Male up in the skies deciding over everything, do you think you would be able to eat him? I thought not.

On a totally unrelated note, then, I saw several trees today. I just thought you might want to know.

But enough of that for the day. I wouldn't want you to run away screaming.

See ya!

Slight mess.

Well then, today I restarted work. It could have been much worse - I only started waking up at around 14:00, so most of it was done by the time I realised where I was. It seems I still know what to do, though, so no worries there.

After work I had to go to the VG-store again. I had no choice, but I don't really mind anyways. Otherwise, I would have protested when told to come back tomorrow. Although I will probably be a bit later then, as I have a couple of things I have to take care of prior to my going there. Instead of today's 16:50, I expect to be there by 17:30 - 18:00 tomorrow.

Other than that, the toilet got totally messed up tonight. It got fixed, though, or at least, it's working. So no hot new things there.

Excuse the shortness for the night.

See ya!

The ends of Freedom

So then last night there were visitors from beyond the void\across the street. So I was unable to post. Sue me.

This morning I took the advantage of my last day of liberty to sleep for a bit (if you would call 'till 08:00 a bit...), and slowly get out of bed in order to find painters on my balcony. Needless to say, I had no intention of spending my day off with a bunch of painters, so I decided to go visit my VG-store. So needless to say, I spent a couple of hours there, and although I didn't stay all day, I have to come back there again tomorrow. I've been ordered to.

Speaking of tomorrow, I have to go to work again. It's been a while since I've last been there (last Thursday, remember?) and I'm afraid I'll be having trouble getting up again tomorrow, even though I don't really expect there to be any trouble. I'll just put my alarm-clock to good use again, that should do the trick.

Other than that, my few days off did their most important task - I had a good time, and got some quality-unwinding time in it as well. Still bothered by the whole cashier thing as I am, I took some time to try and settle my thoughts on that matter as well. We're getting there, let's keep it at that. It's a work in progress.

But seeing as how today was otherwise fully uneventfull - except for my buying a couple of Anime Soundtracks at a ridiculously low price - I'll leave you here.

See ya!

Short stuff v.2.04b

*Insert opening phrase here*

Sorry, I didn't feel like rehashing the same phrase for the umpteenth time.

Anyways, today we went karting (we= me, my sis, mum, dad & stepdad). I did two heats, the first was way too busy, and with slow drivers, so I was constantly struggling to get through traffic. The second heat was better, there was only 4 of us, and I started out in front, so I had a clear track all-round. It was 0"932 faster.

After that, we dropped back to our place to hand over that telescope which lay in Ede for the night. I'll be finalizing it's construction calmly tomorrow, when there's less "time-pressure", as we had to go eat as well.

We had to drop off my dad before dinner though, but my sis' boyfriend joined in. We took on an Italian restaurant, which was pretty good (or at least, my food was - I can't judge for the others).

Oh, and I got a new mobile from my sis.

Other than that, well, no news today.

So there you have it.

See ya!

All in a blog's life

Ah then. Today was a fine day, by my standards. In the morning my mom picked me up and we went to get my telescope. Getting on location by car is, as any driver known with the inner-workings of Utrecht knows, hell. I mean, you could just take a left. You could, you know. But nooooo. You have to take a right, do a 180° turn, and then you can follow the road you wanted to take in the first place. And they do this to you, not once, but two or three times. I mean, ugh!

After that, it was straight to the VG-store for me! I arrived there later than I had initially hoped (10:15 instead of 10:00...), but I just had to get some stuff gathered first. Like, some snacks and a bottle of Coke, for example.

The fact that I stayed there 'till 20:00 won't come as a surprise to my regulars. We had cake. We had donuts. We had fun! I got myself Chibi Robo, which I am going to enjoy a lot once I get on it (not yet...), and I got myself a superb prize as a present. I got the absolute classic for my old NES, Barbie! Woohoo!

Otherwise, well, not a lot of special things today. So no long post for today, as I have but little time for scribbles anyways.

So then, as they say,

See ya!

Question time

Okay then. Today was my last day of work for a while. I'll start again on Tuesday. Today laster longer than I had hoped for, but somehow, the last day at work before a short vacation always seems to be extended, feeling wise.

Besides that, what can I throw in your general direction today? Ah yes. I found something.

A quiz! That's what I'll be doing today! Yay! I think I'll just come up with some questions and see what happens. Please remember that this is the first time I try a thing like this. Thus, it may be a bit, well, weird and/or illogical. It most certainly will be inconsistent. But that's my charm! Deal with it.
  1. Say, you were taking a nice, long walk through the woods with your significant other. All around you are tall trees, fully blossoming (this is spring-time), and you see a lot of little critters running around. In the distance you hear a small stream flowing gently. A squirrel crosses your path a short distance before you. Suddenly, behind you, you hear a strange sound. The both of you turn around, and are shocked to find... To find what?
  2. Once upon a time, there was a fair princess in the land of Saariel, named Cassandra. She was loved by all the land, and all princes from all neighbouring countries tried to win her heart. One day, a few weeks before her 20th birthday, she met a stranger from the land of Cimmarill, a country across the seas, with which rarely any contact was made by all of the other countries in the world. The princess was shocked to hear the man speaking of her childhood as if he had been there himself, even though he could not possibly have been there. He knew of the time when she went riding on her own, without even telling her parents, whan she was 13 years of age. He knew of her misadventures in the woods beyond the castle, of which she never told anyone but her friend, and only because she caught her there once. He also said he knew of her future. He told her of trouble being afoot. Of many hardships coming, and great peril for her and her countrymen. What was going to happen?
  3. The year is 2253. Tomorrow, you shall depart for a long vacation on Earth, leaving your Martian home for two months (Space travel by this time is much speedier than it is today). You ask your neighbours to take care of your pet skiddle, called Muffin, and to give your plants the regular Carbon-blocks they need to survive during your absence. You go through the last few things at work, call your mother to tell her everthings going to be just fine, for she doesn't like the idea of space-travel, stating "If man was made for interplanetary flight, he would been born with a jet-engine up his arse!" She's funny like that. Everything is taken care of. So you go to bed, as you need your rest for the long flight. The following day, you go to the Cosmoport, you check in, take your seat and relax. Take-off is smooth as always. But then it strikes you. You forgot one thing! What did you forget?
  4. A long time ago, in a Galaxy far, far away, there was a young man known to friend and foe alike as Gough Leythen. He was a skillfull swordfighter, having won many a tournament in his day. But alas, the long shadow of intergalactic politics have weighed big on his home-planet of Fangoo, and tension was rising among the people living there. There was much dispute about how they should react to the developing situation upon the nearby planet of Uthioorm, as war was being fought there, leading many a Uthian to flee their homes looking for a safe haven. Some Fangians were of mind that the Uthians coming to their planet should be helped in any way possible, and should be made to feel at home untill it was safe for them to return from whence they came. Other Fangians, however, were less fair-hearted, and said that all Uthians should be banned form the planet. Our friend Gough was of the former group, however, some of his close friends took on the opinions of the latter. This lead, of course, to tensions rising even within the group of previously very close friends, right untill the situation escalated beyond repair. What happened, causing the group to not only split up, but forever more become sworn adversaries? (Okay, so this was kind of a prequel-type question.)
  5. This is the high-point of your career. For years have you been practicing your diving skills, and now, finally, you have reached the Olympic Finals. You jump. All your moves go down to perfectly. The moment you submerge, you can just feel the buss. Once you resurface, you hear the crowd roaring! You did it! You won! Now, then, tell me, what was your jump?
And now for the bonus question:
  1. In A.D. 2101, war was beginning. Somebody set up you the bomb. You get signal, and Main screen turn on. It's him. He asks how you are, and says all your base are belong to him. Apparently, you are on the way to destruction. You don't believe what you're hearing, so he emphasizes: "You have no chance to survive make your time. Ha Ha Ha Ha...." Luckily, you know what you doing. Your orders: for great justice, take off every 'zig! Move 'zig. How are you going to survive?
Feel free to either totally ignore my moment of sheer stupidity. However, if you do decide to answer somehow, I want to see your answers, so place them where I can find 'em, be it in my comments or on your own blog. Heck, for all I care, you can turn this thing into one of those bloomin' memes! That would be a nice idea. Answer these questions and you're obliged to post 'em yourself! Just remember, you saw 'em here first!

Have fun, and before I forget,

See ya!

Warning: Funny mood today

Well then, one more day down. Only one more to go, and it's a four-day weekend for yours truly. Glad, I am.

Ehm... What else? I really don't know, actually. Not a lot news today. It was mostly routine, really. So that makes for an almost empty entry. Which almost rhymes. Almost.

What did happen today, then. I witnessed an escape attempt by a shoe. I was riding my bike back home, and the road was exceptionally busy today. I don't know where all those cyclists suddenly spawned from, but there were more than usual. But back to the shoe. It was two schoolgirls. I don't know exactly what happened, but I heard a loud, stereo-scream (they somehow managed to do this simultaneously), looked around at what the hell was going on, and saw one of them had lost one of their shoes. Now how on Earth does one manage a stunt like that? I don't ever have my laces tied, yet I never manage to lose my footwear. Here is some girl that manages to start undressing on a bicycle somehow, and doesn't even have to have a battleplan, seeing as how surprised her reaction was. Ah well. Just goes to show how reactions can react in a rather funny way as well. (Yes, I did just anthropomorphisize a reaction.(Yes, I did just use the word "anthropomorphisize.)(Yes, I am once again using multiple thoughtbubbles.)(Yes, I must be very, very bored.)(Yes, I know these aren't actual thoughtbubbles, but you get the idea.)(Yes you do. Come on now. You do. Stop complaining.))

What else, then. Ah yes. I figured out racing games on the Revolution. Thanks to the interchangeable nature of the pad-extension, the new controller could come with pedals as an add-on as well. You know, pedals. One for acceleration, one for braking. As in, you know, a car, for example. Then, while using these pedals - or Foot-pressure-measurement-devices™, as I like to call 'em - to accelerate and brake, you could take full advantage of the tilt sensor in your gamepad (the TV-remote thingy) and use it as a steering wheel. After, obviously, having tilted it 90° (for the initial position) to give you more steering wheel to play with. This will also give you easy access to more than enough action buttons for either switching gears or throwing shells and bananas, depending on the game you're playing. The only thing I'd be worried about in this case is the lack of a direct "powerslide" which was always under the shoulder buttons, but that may just be my being used to those shoulder buttons kicking in, and I'm sure there'll be a simple way to tackle this problem. I mean, if sliding tackles don't work, we could always use full-on bodychecks, right?

Ooh, what else could I annoy you with tonight? I don't know, really. Like I said, today was mostly routine, so nothing really worth noting happened. I guess I could always go and talk some more non-sense, but I'm not sure how much of that my poor, poor readers are able to take without fainting and/or losing their sanity. I mean, mine was lost a long time ago, which helped me become Paradox-Anthropomorphisized (I used it again! Aren't I the greatest ever?), otherwise known as a walking contradiction. But I prefer Paradox-Anthropomorphisized. It has a nice ring to it. Paradox-Anthropomorphisized, Paradox-Anthropomorphisized, Paradox-Anthropomorphisized. Try typing that without resorting to CTRL+C - CTRL+V. Or, even better, try saying it ten times in a row. I bet people around you will be looking at you as if you were crazy. And while they're at it, marvel at their weird-looking faces that only a wtf-thinking person can have. You know the face I'm talking about. I bet you're wearing it while you're reading this.

I fear this post has turned rather Pythonesque on us. But that's okay, isn't it? I've noticed this entry has a tendency towards becoming silly. Now, nobody enjoys a good laugh more then I do. Except maybe my aunt Nettie. Oh, and her kids. And their neighbours. And Fred, and Steve. Come to think of it, most people enjoy a good laugh more than I do, but that's besides the point. What I mean to say is, when this post will start getting silly again, I'll try to get it back on track. So now for something completely different.

This picture, as you can see, is courtesy of Engrish.com. By the way, that's not me on the picture. My face is less censored. So don't come to the Netherlands looking for a guy with a Lego-face expecting it to be me.

I guess it's time to leave you alone for today. I must have wasted enough of your valuable time.

See ya!

Sin & Punishment

Ah. Let's just skip the formalities of my workday and go straight to the real thing, okay? After all, I was barely awake for most of the day.

After work, I passed by the house quickly, as I had to feed the cat and pick up my phone, which was not charged up in the morning. My mom had just called about my telescope, which we will be picking up on Friday in the AM, so she can take it back to Ede and bring it over here again on Saturday, as my Friday was already taken for my "official" VG-store visit. I passed by there tonight as well, but this was a "punishment-visit", as I didn't have VenusBelly's Official Permission™. Don't you just hate it when that happens?

Anyways, at least we had some fun, what with Eresir and Damio also present, and Sci passing by later on to display his We Love Katamari. Ah, the joy of gaming! Seeing stuff like this makes me glad to be on the "in", and makes me even more excited about upcoming events which shall from here-on remain unnamed within this post.

On a non-Revolution note, though, Nintendogs is being released over here soon (2 weeks now), which will probably be my next purchase, followed by Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing (both WiFi connectible) in November. So I'm not just sitting and waiting, I'm still going to actively follow. Of course, there was no doubt about this at any point in time, I just felt the need to restate.

It's funny how this time of the year always gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand, the period starting with my birthday, and running through the upcoming holidays and into the new year, you know, the Fall/Winter time, I don't like them because of cold, short days. I find that depressing. It's the kind of weather that makes you want to cuddle up to someone, and not having that someone to cuddle up to does not make this time of year any easier.

On the other hand, I always seem to get through it one game-release at a time. I just focus on the next good game, which is never far away in preparation for the holidays, and I get through it.

But I must start with stopping this post now. I'll leave you here.

See ya!

Boo!

Well, today was the start of a 4-day working week, as I have Friday and Monday off to create a 4-day weekend coming up. I will be spending at least Friday at my VG-store, the rest of the weekend, well, we'll have to see how the puzzle fits exactly. It might be a bit of a mess, it may not. I'm not really sure quite yet.

Getting through the weekend on a gaming-related high has also done much to help me through the day at work. I just tried to think of the options my next toy is going to give me come next year. When I got home and did some Technorati-searching, I found out I'm not the only one that's excited. I found and commented some other blogs, but I especially liked this one, as it best illustrates the reactions non-gamers are expected to give this one.

Other than that, well, back to usual business. I'm still trying to get the hang of my supermarket without my cashier. It doesn't do much to improve my mood, though.

That about covers today. I can't guarantee much interesting content the coming days, but hey, a bit of patience never hurt anyone, right? I'll get down to something at some point in the future.

Anyways, 'till then,

See ya!

Press the Button!

Today was one of those typical Sundays. Meaning I did absolutely nothing. Or, well, nothing is not entirely correct. I had a major Ouendan! session, clearing the easy difficulty and getting about halfway through normal mode (I should have done this sooner, it would have helped in my vs. session with Venusbelly last Thursday), I hopped around some more on my DDR-mat, I read some, and I surfed the web looking for comments and impressions about the little wonder I talked about last night.

I came across some sources stating a Spring release for Japan, which is, as you may remember or look up, sooner than my estimate was. Still, it should be doable on import. I'm going for it.

But since that's about it, I'll leave you here.

See ya!

Excited!

Prologue: I apologize for today's length. Feel free to skip the latter part if you don't care about those things, feel free to skip to the latter part if you do Or just plough through the whole thing. Either way, enjoy!

First let me started on last night. Once I got home from work, after hanging around there for a couple of drinks (non-alcoholic in my case), I only had a couple of hours before meeting up with jzz. We got my shit, and then took my shit and plugged it into his shit, so we could do shit for the night.

Oh, sorry.

We took my GameCube, bringing along Donkey Konga and my two bongo's, we took DDR, along with the dance-mat (which does not allow for easy carrying), and we took my NDS together with Ouendan! and Daigasso!, and had a music-game "party" at his place with the three of us, as Faerie was there as well. I later figured I should have brought Electroplancton as well, and maybe even Pocket Music, although that last one is a GBA game and not all that great, really.

Anyways, we had a lot of fun. I stayed there rather late, and then did some online digging afterwards before going to bed, so I landed there at about 03:00. But more on that online digging later...

For this morning, I woke up at 09:00 and thought to myself "Ugh! Zzz...?? Mmmhmm! Blyeach?!", but I still got out of bed anyways. I got up, talked a bit to my sis and her BF, hooked up the PC, got online, and suddenly, somehow, landed up in my VG-store at, say, 10:10. I don't really know how it happened. Or, well, actually I do. You see, I went to their forum, and saw Manece hanging around. I figured he should be there then, and sent him a stupid little private message. Something along the lines of "Shouldn't you be working?", which was replied by his "Shouldn't you be sleeping?", as he had seen my posts from the night before, at 02:48. This was followed by a "Do you want to come over for a cup of coffee?". Twenty minutes later I was there. Even though I didn't want coffee. I was told about their upcoming music-game meeting, which I would have loved to attend to, were it not that I have to work on that day. This saddens me. But more on this subject (the store, I mean) later, as well, once I get down to my online digging, as these are also related in some way. And I have this feeling that our British friend may now be having an idea of what's going to come later.

But first get the rest out of the way. I met up with my mom later on, as we were planning to go check on that telescope, but sadly, shockingly, they were closed today. I was shocked. We'll have to figure something out now.

And now then for the main course. The thing you have all been waiting for (yeah, right!), the very reason this post is so bloomin' long:

The Nintendo Revolution Controller has been unveiled at long last at the Tokyo Game Show.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I know it looks like a remote here.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

And here still, like four differently coloured remotes.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

But the analogue here gives it a more regular feel, doesn't it?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

And it works as a "magic wand" as well.

Satoru Iwata's webcast was the reason I stayed up another 47 minutes and 41 seconds last night. It did a lot to reveal Nintendo's views on gaming, their efforts and strategy to expand their user-base due to innovative hardware (think Dual-screen/touch screen/Microphone for the DS) and software (think Nintendogs). If you don't want to hear about all that in a badly dubbed manner, you can cut to the controller demonstration over here. That one's only 02:10, so it should be more bearable for those who only want to know how this baby does her magic!

Needless to say, the possibilities this little beauty gives are very exciting. The video alone gives you a good impression of it's many uses, from fishing, tennis and baseball, to cooking, sword fighting, fly-swatting etc. Some other things I heard as well, like today, from Manece, a flight-simulator where you hold and tilt the controller to fly your craft, or Sci's horseriding ideas (pulling back to break, yank left or right to make your horse turn) all seem pretty interesting as well. And, seeing as there's supposed to be a regular Cube-controller port on it as well, those all-important third party titles can still be ported without much of a hassle. Only Revolution will be having the unique games!

So when I was at the store, we discussed the possibilities (although the highlight of the conversation was MadSpunky's "Oh, is it revealed already?" when we had been talking about it for 5 minutes straight sitting right next to him) and the implications. Also, and most importantly, we discussed the conditions of the Japanese launch. An estimate was made of the launch-price, and what it would cost to import. And it was decided that that would be what I'd do. Import it. I'm estimating a September 2006 release in Japan, a 3 month wait for the States, and another 3 months for Europe, and I don't want to wait that long. All I'm waiting for is a definite prece, but it should be no problem, and I should be having it soon enough. Or, well, no. Only today would be soon enough, but hey, as a gamer, I spend most of my life awaiting new releases. It's just part of the gig.

But I will leave you here. This post has gotten long enough already.

See ya!

Microscopic disappointment

Here we go again. Work today was all rather easy, it all went a lot smoother then expected. So we're now slightly ahead of schedule, let's hope we can keep it up!

It rained all afternoon, so when I got home I was totally soaked. I fed the cat, put on some dry clothes, and left for the VG-store. Once I got there, I was soaked all over again. Ugh.

I spent 'till 20:00 there, before going back home. I tried the GB Micro. The screen is too small, the shoulder buttons don't feel quite right and there's no multi-player port. In other words, no actual value other than collectors. Therefor, it shall have to wait. It's set back on my list of priorities. It would have been practical on the go, but those issues are too big for it to be an actual replacement for my SP's, so that I know in advance it'll be bought solely for collection-purposes.

Once I got home, I didn't do much else. I read some. I typed this. That's it.

See ya!

Low on inspiration

It may be the shortening days
It may be recent events of my life
It may be the infamous "blogging 'ump"
It may be something else

I don't feel like writing much
I don't feel like work

I don't know what to do

Warning: Incoming Post

Well, here it is again - my entry. Note: you should not read that as if I've been into outer space, and have only today returned into the Earth's atmosphere.

I asked for the afternoon off at work today, as I had some things on my mind that I wanted to clear up and/or think over. I think most of you can probably guess some of them, otherwise you should go on an archeoblogy-expedition within this blog.

So anyways, I left work at 11:30 (half a day), and took my time riding back home. Lets just say I took the scenic route. It took me twice as long to get back, but I didn't really mind. Once I got home, first I rested a bit, then to clear my mind, I went into the park to read some. I figured, the sun was shining, and summer's almost over, might as well enjoy while I can. I also did some DDR once I got back home, and at least I managed to empty my head. I'm affraid the stuff will still be bothering me for a while, but at least I got some relief today, which should make the rest of the week more, well, bareable.

I should be training my Ouendan! some more, but I didn't get round to it yet today. I'll have to give it a special session tomorrow, then. But that's less important, isn't it?

Anyways, I don't really know what more to write right now, so I'll leave it here.

See ya!

In between

Ah well. Yesterday I had a visit form jzz, so I didn't get down to writing anything here. We hd a lot of fun on DDR and Donkey Konga, I knew he'd like them!

Today was a pretty slow start, but thankfully work was over rather soon. I ran into Jynx on the way back home, and we talked for a bit, which messed up my rather tight schedule, as it made me rush through my "pre-VG-store" activities.

I still arrived there later than planned, though. But the book was handed over allright. I stayed 'till 20:00, messing around with the other people there. I'll be back on Thursday.

And that about covers today. So there you have it.

See ya!

Fill in the Blanks

Well then, here I am again. What happened yesterday, you ask? Not much. I just didn't feel up to the job. I feel the quality of my writing has gone down with my mood, and I didn't want to drown you with badly written text.

But besides that, what happened? Ah yes - while at work yesterday, I received a phonecall from my VG-store, where my special order of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! had arrived, at last. So I passed by and picked it up. It's a shame, though, that my hand tends to get in the way of the touch-screen, though. It makes for a slighlty harder game if you can't anticipate fully.

I also abused the opportunity to try out Chibi Robo, which they had imported as well. That game is just too cute for it's own good. I feel the need to have it... But I must wait for now. Maybe next month...

There are too many good games coming out simultaneously...

I didn't stay there that long, as it was too busy for my liking. Too much, well, disturbances.

And then up to Saturday. What did I do on Saturday? I slept for a looooooong time, for starters. I really needed the rest, as I hadn't been able to completely recover over last week, especially with my sleeping troubles and that whole cashier-thing bothering me. I spent some time on various music-games as well, and did some minor reading. Other than that, well, not much news from my front.

And thus I leave you.

See ya!

One of those days

I don't feel like writing down a lot today, so this will be only a short entry.

Today was a big downer, as you may well have guessed. I was having a lot of trouble keeping up a slightly more cheerful face at work. Thankfully, there's only one day left 'till weekend. Once we get there, I'll have a couple of days to straighten things out in my head.

After work, I went to the shopping centre to get me some magazines. Mostly astronomy things and one VG mag. Nothing new or spectacular there, then.

As my sis was out tonight, I took the oportunity to get some much needed gaming time. I unlocked two extra songs in DDR, played a bit of Donkey Konga, and then got some minor Daigasso! done as well. It cleared my mind for a bit, and that's what I need right now.

Tomorrow is that party I got myself listed for, but I don't think I'll be attending. I don't really feel like partying right now...

Somewhere along the weekend jzz should be passing by to try out my new games. I'm quite sure he'll like them. Maybe Faerie will like them as well, although I'm not sure she'll be coming along. We'll see.

Monday I'll be present at my VG store again, as I shall be handing over a Cosmology-book to someone from their forum. It's one I got double, due to it having different titles. I noticed this when it was already purchased for a while, sadly, so I couldn't exchange it anymore. However, this guy has shown an interest in the subject several times already, so I asked him if he would be interested in the book. I'll be handing it over on Monday, then.

Now, if after all, I do decide to visit my party tomorrow, that would mean I won't be posting then, as it'll last from 22:00 'till 06:00. So you'll find out soon enough whether or not I'm there.

Okay, so it wasn't all that short. Sue me!

Untill next time,

See ya!

Okay then. Today work was a problem, as I didn't sleep well last night either. Having to get up so early while you didn't get enough sleep is no fun, I can tell you.

I visited my father tonight, but that's hardly worth mentioning, as we didn't really do much more than sit around for a bit and talk some. But neither of us is the conversational type, and his brother that was over visiting didn't seem it either, so it was basically an evening of sharing our presences with one another.

But all that is not what you want to hear, is it?

I did my shoping today. Yes I did. And I did get to see my cashier again. Yes I did. We had some smalltalk. I even said something among the lines of "We should celebrate our new jobs together", and got a smile in return. However, once she continued the talk with a comment on my still lacking a customer card, before I could come up with a good reply, the guy standing in line behind me butted in! He started something to me like "You work here and don't have a card?" In other words, he was listening to our conversation. I can't stand that. I don't know how to handle a girl, let alone with an audience around... It totally locked me up, I couldn't say anything anymore...

Which means now all I can do is hope...

Which sucks, basically. I would much rather have had something to go by.

*Sniff*

See ya...

Insert coin

Ah, the joys of getting back to work. I think most of us felt rather broken today, but I had the added joy of being unable to sleep last night. I went to bed at around 00:30, which was, you know, too late, but that's what a new game does to me sometimes. In this case, the problem was Dance Dance Revolution With Mario, in which I ran through the easy-level story-mode as if it was the easiest thing ever.

But I digress. I was talking about going to bed. I lay down, but just couldn't manage falling asleep. I just had too much running through my head, I guess. If you don't remember, you can always check yesterday's post.

But not only was it at least around 02:00 befre falling asleep. No, that was only part of the problem. It was 04:00 when I woke up again. And I couldn't get back to sleep after that. I tried for about 30 minutes, as I still had 'till 05:30 on my alarm clock, but then I figured "screw this, I'm outta here!" and took for a morning training session on DDR again. Call me crazy, but it seemed more enjoyable than staying in bed at the time. It still does now, by the way. At least it distracted me for a while. I had my mind set on arrows instead of cashiers for a bit, it gave me an opportunity to clear my thoughts and focus on work.

Although at work, she was still on my mind. Ah well, the story of my life... *sigh*

So work then was a zombie-fest, although it was with slightly overactive zombies instead of the regular "brrrrraaaaiiiinnnnnsssss" type you see in movies. For you see, in order to stay awake, a lot of goofing around was used. Which made for a rather relaxed atmosphere.

After work I left home rather early, in order to pass by my VG-store prior to attending my lecture. I stole myself 90 minutes there thusly, and afterwards I gently peddled towards the Observatory. No, I didn't go by canoe. I peddled my bike.

Today's lecture was on NEO's, comets, asteroids and other space-trash. I must say that today's professor seemed in a bit of a hurry to complete his story, giving the whole a rushed feel. I must say this is mainly due to his story being slightly too packed with info, so it wasn't for a bad reason, but slightly less time on the less important bits would have given him more time on the bigger things.

He did have some recent data and theories to share on the Kuiper Belt, Oort Cloud, and ofcourse, the Deep Impact/Temple-1 mission of a couple of months ago. But all those things are still being sought out as we write/read/speak, so there couldn't be much more than speculation about that.

I took the opportunity to enlist for the lecture of next month, "Cosmic Disasters", which I will be attending on the Sunday prior to Brussels. That one should be rather interesting as well, to say the least. "I expect fireworks!", as the would say, right?

Anyways, I'll leave you here. Tomorrow is technically the day I visit my father, but more importantly, it's the last day my cashier will be officially my cashier, due to new job developments. I hope I can think of something to make sure it's not the last I see of her, but knowing myself...

Ah well...

See ya!

Guess who's back?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Since "simply not edible" doesn't seem to fit, and "inedible" is, no offence, unacceptable, this is the "Official Button™©®" you can use. I though I'd post it here, so all of you can see. So then that's out of the way. You can find it here, if you want:

Next up: Sunday. Work was 08:00 - 22:45, we had to tear everything down immediately after ending. That was done in 4 measly hours. It took three days to build it up...

The only problem was we didn't have sufficient space in our trucks to take it all away at once, so we had to wait for the small one to come back so we could get the last things out of the way. That wait was about 20 minutes after all else was done.

I took a bite at McDonald's before coming back home, so I was bak at around 23:20 or so. Glad it's over, but I'm also happy I got to see it all. And it was practical that the first one was just around the corner from my place - next up is Brussels, 13-16 October...

Today was the VG-store, where I had a couple of games waiting for me. I arrived there at 10:00, and stayed untill 19:00. My games were purchased at around 17:35, but sadly it consisted only of Dance Dance Revolution with Mario and Donkey Konga, for Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! hadn't arrived yet. I reserved my Daigasso! Band Brothers expansion cart today as well.

After leaving there eventually, with an overly large plastic bag containing two oversized boxes, I thought I'd pass by my supermarket to get some dinner and a couple of drinks. I did just that. And was very excited to see my cashier had returned.

Apparently, she was on vacation for a month, and dealing with some other stuff for another month. Oh, and Wednesday is her last day there, as she's going to work someplace where she can get some more flexible hours, what with her school and all...

I didn't know whether I should be glad for her that she has another job, sad for me that she's leaving, happy to see her again, but sad that it won't last for long anymore...

This gives me a problem now, since I won't know what to say when I see her again. Damn me and my complete inability to handle girls!

But on to the next issue, as I don't want to dwell on this for too long. Tomorrow is the lecture on NEO's that I'm attending, which should be interesting.

Wednesday the plan is to visit my father. We'll have to discuss some telescope-related issues at least, so this should happen, but if something more important pops up, well... We'll see.

And for now, at least,

See ya!

Let's get Hectic

Okay, I have the time tonight, so here I go then! Whoohoo!

Traffic on my blog has been slow this week, but that was to be expected. Anyways, down to business.

It is supposed to be Saturday today, but I lost track a couple of days ago. The schedule is being made up along the way, so I have to ask at the end of the day at what time I'm supposed to be where - the day isn't important.

My hours for the week so far:
  • Monday: 07:30 - 16:00
  • Tuesday: 08:00 - 18:00
  • Wednesday: 08:00 - 19:00
  • Thursday: 10:00 - 23:15
  • Friday: 11:00 - 23:00
  • Saturday: 08:00 - 19:00
  • Sunday: 08:00 - ??:??
The first three days were used getting things ready. It was mostly building up tables and arranging our books for me. On Wednesday night those that wanted (some rather went home) were taken for dinner at a restaurant just around the corner. Thursday and Friday I was at IJsselstein, in our storehouse, to get the follow-up orders ready. Friday was especially nasty at that, seeing us running around all day long. At least on Thursday, we had a slow run-up to the first orders.

Today, the original planning placed me there again, but due to circumstances, all of us were asked to come to the Fair instead, with a smaller group to go to the storehouse later. It was a matter of pricing the books we quickly rushed through yesterday so as to not work 'till 02:00. Then placing them at their, ehm, place, as they say.

The rest of the day was mostly filled with replacing those books that customers decide not to buy after realising they don't have all that much money on them. Which meant wading through rows of customers whilst trying to get that one tiny little book back in it's place, just there behind those 7 grannies slowly looking through entire books and other stuff like that. Dealing with the children's books was fun too, as they were constantly running around their area, not caring whether or not you're walking there with a cart filled to the brim. And they can get rather loud, too.

But anyways, I announced that my next blog would be on Sunday, but seeing as we have to take it all down again Sunday immediately after the end of it all, I somehow doubt that that is going to be a possibility. But I will almost certainly be here again on Monday, depending on if I ever manage to get out of bed in the morning and/or out of the couch at my VG-store in the evening. But that's something we'll find out in due time.

Untill then,

See ya!
