Secret Ninja

08:15 'till 18:00 today was. Tomorrow should be longer than that. We'll see. It's starting to look like something now, at least.

After work, since it was 18:00 and I wasn't all that far off already, especially considering my bike was there and waiting, I thought I'd pass by my VG-store for an hour or so. Which I did, then. Before I even had the chance to crash down on the bench there, however, Eresir saw me ans immediately said "[Venusbelly] isn't here today." I thought to myself "I can see that. What do you want me to do? Leave?" But sat down anyways and only grumbled somewhat to him. He should be used to my doing that by now. The next thing I heard was MadSpunky asking: "Hey, [sne], are you secretly a ninja?" Now I was like "Say what? What the hell are you talking about?" He's always weird like that, however, so I wasn't as surprised as I would have been had someone else asked that. I went on explaining to him that, if I were secretly a ninja, I wouldn't do anything to make that public, so I certainly wouldn't be saying yes to that.

After a while though, and a quick spin at Advance Wars on the Cube through the GBA-player-thingy, I left for home. There I ate some, after a short shopping spell which was still rather cashier-less, and I wrote this down. I must be tired, however, for I am making a total mess of this entry, totally typo-ing it and all. So this short entry took me a long while to finish because of that.

That's it for now. Untill I blog to you again, I can only say -

See ya!

Blisters upon blisters

Pff... I'm exhausted right now...

You know, the last thing you want to do when you have a giant blister on your hand is have to pull around some containers loaded with books. Those don't really help relieve the pain.

Anyways, we started the preparations for our festival today. What started out as an empty hall is now a hall filled with book-bearing containers planted at strategic locations. Tomorrow is going to be "table-building" and the like, and I should be back home again in time for blogging.

I hope by the end of tomorrow it will start looking good. I love that feeling of working towards a goal, and that's what we're doing right now. I can't wait to see the final product, and right now, it almost feels bad to know we have to take it all down again on Sunday. Especially considering the fact that we'll have to sort it all out afterwards.

Another new guy started out today. Heh. I'm glad I had a slightly calmer "run-up" to this day, I have a basic background of what goes where, that does help, thankfully. Although it doesn't make me any less tired. It makes me wish I could just come home and curl up to someone, if you know what I mean.

Ah well. Still a long week ahead. Tomorrow I get to sleep a bit more, since I only have to be at our rendez-vous on location at 08:15. I set my alarm an hour later, so I can get up calmly without having to rush, and still sneak in some extra sleep. Wednesday is the same, although I probably won't be back home so early. As for after that, well, Sunday will probably be the first entry after tomorrow. If all goes well, but it really should.

See ya!

Still short stuff

So today then I have to make up for the lost bloggage from last night, right? Well, since this weekend has been mostly about resting up for a long week at work, I guess you could say that not all that much worth posting happened anyways.

Yesterday I got myself a lock for my bike. I also went to buy some books, 'cuz I felt like reading some all of a sudden. I bought myself a Lord of the Rings box-set, including The Hobbit and the complete trilogy. I finished The Hobbit at around 18:00 today, and now I'm busy with The Fellowship.

Once I get through to the end of that, I have the complete Hitchhiker's Guide waiting, so I have something to do the next couple of weeks.

Also, yesterday I went karting, and I must say that I was thoroughly disappointed by my lap-times. I should be able to do better than that. What was also bad was the fact that, right at the start of the second heat, I lost my engine. You really feel like "RRRAAAHH!" at a time like that.

So then since my weekend consisted of Karting and reading, I guess today's post is going to be short as well. Sorry 'bout that.

See ya!

Saturday, August 27, 2005

Woohoo!

Okay, so I got back from karting at 23:30, and due to my reading through the first half of The Hobbit this afternoon, I had nothing ready. Therefore, Post # 100 is going to be anticlimactically short. Better luck tomorrow, I promise.

See ya!

Getting ready

You think yesterday was bad? I cut 'n pasted this from my statcounter...

here!

-web-t&b=461

I thought "Ooh, Saudi Arabia. I didn't have that one yet!" Then I check out how he found me... "big fuck pic". Double-you tee eff! I can't even find myself on that particular link...

What else is there to day today? I woke up with a headache the size of the Andromeda galaxy, so I didn't feel all that "joyful" going to work in the morning. I took some medicine upon arrival, but it took a while to kick in, and only managed to lessen the pain, not kill it entirely. Must be my lack of sleep. Seems like fun, if you consider next week...

On Tuesday and Wednesday I work at build-up, which means I get to sleep some more in the morning, as I only have to be on location at around 08:00, and that's at a mere 5 minutes from my house on bike. Woohoo for that. I still don't know my exact hours from September 1st, but that all depends on what happens at the fair, I guess. I'm just glad I get to boss around students at the build-up and at the end, when we clean up. Must be fun.

Like I said, Monday and Tuesday are most likely days on which I'll be back in time for blogging, and Sunday might just be attainable as well. The rest of the week will probably be empty, though. Especially since I don't want to break my 11:11 thing.

I'm going to put on a DVD just now, and hope I don't fall asleep like I did yesterday. Although, to be honest, I could use some rest. But that is what I have the weekend for. I have just a couple of things to do for tomorrow, and I have been invited to go karting again, so I hope to have all that done so I can really get some rest on Sunday. I'll probably need it, although I guess what with all the excitement next week I'll stay awake without too much trouble.

Well then, after having watched 4 eps of Ninja Scroll - the Series together with jzz, in a badly made version no less - the "subtitles" being a translation of the English script, thus subtitles are present while the Japanese (original) version says nothing - I still have some time to finish this thing. Or at least extend it.

But I don't think I'll do that. It's pretty much okay as it is now. So I'll keave it here.

See ya!

Another day

Okay, first things first. Who on earth is it that Googled "Well Hung Little Kid"? And what on earth is he doing not leaving a comment on my blog saying he found me using that particular phrase? People have the right to know!

What did I do today, then? Well, my morning bike ride was through the rain. We discussed the work-load for next week. Turns out, on Monday, Tuesday and Sunday, I might be home in time to blog. So the damage is kept rather low, this time around. However, this is only because the first fair I do is to be kept in Utrecht, so I can get home quickly.

After work I had another trip to my VG-store, as announced. I'll be back there on the 5th like I said. I don't know at what time, since I might be having trouble waking up. But in case of emergency, they know how to reach me with extra instructions, so I think that won't be too much of a problem.

Once I got home, having picked up a little something at the store, which was still way too cashier-less for my liking, I first wrote this. Or, I should say, am writing this. I'm gonna play a DVD just now, so I'll have to finish this later.

Well, I tried watching a DVD, but the inactivity of watching those make me fall asleep, and that's not what I want right now...

Still feeling slightly blue. I'm glad I was able to mingle again tonight, but I think people noticed I wasn't quite as cheerfull as I have been lately. It's just, you know, I'm happy with my new job, but I wanted to share that joy, you know.

Ah well.

See ya!

Pride & Blogudice

Oh no, I've been tagged yet again. For the love of all that's good, won't somebody please think of the children? Okay, forgive my taking this one tongue-in-cheek for a change.

7 Things I plan to do before I die:
  1. Find the cure for "Sudden Deceleration Syndrome".
  2. Plan something to do before dieing.
  3. Trip to Japan.
  4. Shut down all blogging meme things!
  5. Get a telescope (i.e. I don't plan on dieing within the next four weeks).
  6. Play some more games.
  7. Find the "Retry" Button, so I can play again after "Game Over".
Having said that, I'm not dieing. I am immortal untill proven otherwise.

7 Things I can do:
  1. Type, as you can see.
  2. Read.
  3. Count up to and including 3.
  4. Breathe. This one just comes rather naturally.
  5. Bore people with totally useless info that only I care about.
  6. Speak Dutch.
  7. Make Mac 'n Cheese.

7 Things I cannot do:
  1. Leap over a building.
  2. Walk through a wall.
  3. Explain the wondrous nature of quantum-mechanics to a 3-year old.
  4. Eat the sun.
  5. Drink milk without feeling nauseous a mere 5 minutes later.
  6. Get my hands on Bangai-o for the N64.
  7. Whistle and snap my fingers. I can do neither of those, but I'll count them as one.

7 Things that attract me to the opposite sex:
  1. My naturally born instinct for species survival.
  2. Gravity.
  3. Electromagnetism (technically speaking, that is).
  4. Opposites.
  5. Attractiveness.
  6. Quirkyness.
  7. Apparently, they have to work in a shop somehow.
7 Things I say most often:

**Please note: these may be translations!**
  1. If this blog is anything to go by, I'd say "I".
  2. Shit / Fuck etc.
  3. Sorry / Say what etc.
  4. Ooh, nice.
  5. One more game!
  6. I can do this!
  7. Oh, die already, you big monster!
7 Celebrity Crushes:

I can't really see the use of crushing celebrities (although I'd like to get rid of some of them in a more, ehm, "creative" manner), so I won't list this one!

7 People I want to do this:
  1. *Insert Name Here*
  2. *Insert Name Here*
  3. *Insert Name Here*
  4. *Insert Name Here*
  5. *Insert Name Here*
  6. *Insert Name Here*
  7. *Insert Name Here*
I warned you, didn't I?

*******************************************

Okay, back to work.

Today at work I got myself a phonecall. It was mr. Pink Dwarf, the manager at my previous work. He was asking if I was available to come and help them get out of shit next week. Judging by the stories I heard from Tachyon, most of that shit was created by the management over there in the first place. This, at first, cracked me up, but it was also somehow, you know, insulting. I mean, how could they even think I didn't have another job yet? They know me well enough to know my qualities, that's why they didn't like my leaving. Do they really believe no-one else would have noticed? Sheesh! No wonder they're short handed if they can't even think straight ahead!

After work I headed toward my VG-store. It would seem by VB's reaction that I was one day too early, so I'll have to come back again tomorrow. However, I did get to try out Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!, which seems like an extremely addictive game. It's reserved on my name, then. With a bit of luck I can pick it up on the 5th, together with Donkey Konga and Dance Dance Revolution with Mario.

I also decided to start setting aside some money for a new PC, which would then, starting, say, 2006, be my haven for World of Warcraft. This gives me the "December Period" to rally some, shall we say, sponsorship. I know some of you will be glad to read this, albeit disappointed by the timeline given. But that's just the way it's going to be.

Since that about covers the important thing for today, I'll leave you here.

See ya!

Blyeach!

Okay, I know I should be writing something. I just don't really feel up to the job tonight. I mean, next week is Book Festival Week, so I probably won't be able to post from Monday straight through Sunday. Because of that I feel like I should be giving you as much as possible in advance. On the other hand, I've been feeling rather blue tonight. So I don't really feel like writing much at all.

It all started out rather well. I took my bike to work today. In the rain, no less. I was totally, completely soaked upon arrival, but that wasn't all that big a deal.

I marked a couple of books in the bunch I was unpacking for purchase. I won't tell you which books untill they are in my personal collection, as I am technically not allowed to discuss our stock, but they can't stop me from telling you about my private colection.

I posted a couple of info-overkill posts on my VG forum. My real one, that is. Not the one I'm supposedly modding for. Nothing ever happens there. It was kind of a follow up from Sci's little stunt last night. I stumbled upon Pjotter's little question about a 5th dimension, and drowned the forum with two excessively lenghty posts about the latest theories and personal views. I couldn't help myself. So that was amusing, then.

I also went shopping, though. You know, it's been over 5 weeks now. That's not vacation, is it? That's been bugging me all night. It rather sucks, basically. Now, I won't be drowning you with cursewords and stuff, but basically, I think you can pretty much fill in those blanks.

So there you have it. You know, it's that feeling where you first realize the gravity of your situation. Even watching my latest buy in Anime didn't help much to cheer me up. I'm just hoping this feeling won't last for too long, as I was just getting on a roll with my new job. I can't really use that negative energy right now.

Ah well, it's just something I'll have to deal with, isn't it? I just wish it wouldn't feel so damned heavy while I'm trying to.

Thanks for reading.

See ya!

Meme and stuff

Rules:
1) Comment and I’ll respond with something random about you. I’ll respond in comments so you’ll have to check back.
2) I’ll tell you what song or movie reminds me of you.
3) I’ll pick a color/flavor of jello to wrestle with you in.
4) I’ll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5) I’ll tell you my first memory of you.
6) I’ll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7) I’ll ask you something I’ve always wondered about you.
8) If I do this for you, you must post this on your blog. You MUST. It is written.
Mine, by the infamous memer PureMood:

1)something random about you: don’t like early AMs - like me!
2)song or movie reminds me of you: Dancing with myself by Billy Idol
3)color/flavor of jello to wrestle with you in: Green, I think you’d like it.
4)something that only makes sense to you and me: “What does a female tentacle-monster look like?”
5)first memory of you: Gawd, he’s got a lot of freakin’ games!
6)animal you remind me of: Turtle ;)
7)something I’ve always wondered about you: the name you go by in real life.

Okay, I'll comment on these, then. Not that I must, but I feel the need to defend myself.
1. Oh God no! Sometimes I feel like killing my alarm clock...
2. I'll have to track that one down to even know what you're talking about on this one. Sorry 'bout that.
3. You just got that from my blog, didn't you? "Ooh, he's got a green template! I'll use that against him somehow!"
4. LOL, that was your first comment here, wasn't it? Ah, back in the day...
5. What? I've only got, like, 296 of 'em registered, because IGN doesn't even know all those in my collection! That would make for 303, if they did! That's nowhere near enough!
6. WTF? Why? I'm not that slow, am I?
7. Hah! I'll never tell! Besides, I use my web-ID as often as possible IRL. It's in my consoles, it's in my phone at work, it's all over.

Next up - my day.

Well, two things are really worth mentioning here. First is my sister left for a week today, so I have the place to myself.

Second is I ran into Tachyon - a former co-worker of mine - at the store, and we spent quite some time catching up. In fact, I ran into him at 18:00, and we first talked a bit outside, 'till, say 19:45, went shopping and eventually ended up at my place, where we continued our talk 'till 21:50. So I guess that does count as catching up. It was nice talking to him again. One of the few people from there I'd actually like to keep in touch with, you know.

So that would cover most of what I did without boring you about work. I'll leave it here then, as this post should be pretty large by now.

See ya!

Need bed

Today was mainly spent sleeping actually. Which means I don't have all that much of interest to tell you. All I did besides sleep was make a bikeride, but except for a couple of cows, I saw nothing of globally shocking proportion. Having said that, then, I once again have a problem trying to give you more that the one paragraph.

So then, besides sleep, what else happened? I could tell you I passed the 3-star Recording Ticket on Daigasso! in the Pro level, but you don't care, do you. So I won't say that. Oh, wait, I already did, didn't I? Oh, darn it!

Ooh, what else? Ah yes, I took my .tk, and put up a useless little forum there. Mess around, I dare you!

Other than that, well, I guess that should cover it. Ah well... A quickie, then, as I seem to have been spared from yet another meme.

See ya!

I want to ride my bicycle

Aah yes. This morning I had the intense joy of sleeping in! Ooh, I can't think of a lot of things that can beat that feeling. I just love it. It feels so much better to get out of bed when you're actually awake! Beats that usual morning-zombie style of mine.

What did I do today, then? Ah yes, my bike got picked up. He's doing great, I took him for a test-run to IJsselstein, and he's handling himself fantastically. I bet he enjoyed himself as well, as I hadn't taken him out since, ooh, November 15th, 2003. I know this for a fact, since that was the day I purchased my copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash, and I obviously still have the receipt, even though the guarantee is long over.

Speaking of buying games - I can't wait 'till September 5th, the post-book-festival-compulsory-free-Monday. Which is when I'll be buying my next bunch. It started out as just Donkey Konga, which is already officially waiting for me, but it's looking like Dance Dance Revolution with Mario and Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! are going to be purchased as well. It would seem as though the rhythm-game fever has struck me since Daigasso!, and it's going to cost me dearly...

Farewell, my sweet, sweet money! Ah well, you work to live, right?

Currently, water is gravitationally induced to speed toward the ground, so I'm glad I'm in the comfort of my appartment. I don't mind a bit of rain, but this is absurd.

What really sucked today, though, was that I got one of those annoying spam-comments on yesterday's post. I took it off as soon as I saw it, but it didn't make me happy. That, and the impossibly large amount of spamblogs around these days. We now have the possibility to flag, you know, but while bloghopping you don't want to have to flag 7 times before coming accross an actual person's blog, you know. Because that's just bad. It makes me less willing to bloghop.

Besides that, well, I guess that's about it for now. My sis leaves for a week on Monday, so I'll have the place to myself. The week after that I work, so I won't be around in time for blogging, but we'll have to see how that turns out.

For now, I'll just say:

See ya!

Shrimp on the Barbie

So today was the BBQ at work. I got to leave early so I could freshen up, which I did. My sis came along, so she could see in what kind of place I work these days. I got to meet my colleagues families as well, which was quite interesting. There also was a giant load of food the 50-odd or so of us had to cook on a BBQ the size of a postage stamp, causing mayhem around that thing. There were quite a lot of "this-is-my-piece-of-meat" action, which was fun to witness as well. Other than that, well, I obviously didn't have that much time to do anything remotely interesting. Which means I have a problem.

Because I still have to write some more to make this entry "respectable", and I have to try to keep it interesting for my readers. Which, as you may imagine, is not exactly an easy task.

Ah yes - tomorrow I'm picking up my bike from the doctor. I hope the damage isn't too high, I'm still awaiting the arrival of my paycheck, which should be here around Wednesday/Thursday-ish.

I'll probably explore the way this weekend then, to see how to get to work on bike. I still remember a large part from my school-days, when I did about the same trip, but I'm not 100% sure on it, so I'd rather check it out first. But that's for this weekend. Probably on Saturday, as Sunday it's supposed to be raining.

Ehm... What else can I say? I really don't know. Ah well...

See ya!

Not again!

This just got better. I had a bit written, then my comp froze up! And it took me, say, 40 minutes to write those 5 paragraphs. Pardon my French, but, MERDE!

What was I writing about, then? Oh yeah, I think the first thing was about my visiting my VG-store for a brief spell after work. I took no heed of VB's comment of this morning. i had read it before leaving home this AM, but like I said, when I say see you tomorrow, even if it is a slip of the tongue, it's settled. Oral contracts are legally binding too, you know.

I had some things about work, but I don't remember what those said. So I'll just leave it at that.

Well then, what else should I write about? I passed by the store today, but still to no avail. It's no fun anymore this way. Shocking how much of a difference she makes on my mood, you know.

There was also this thing about the radio station I mentioned some posts ago. They had a thing going, asking if there was such a thing as "too fast and/or hard speedcore", which of course, does not exist. No such thing as too hard. The presenter (DJ Plague) read my mail on their thing, but instead of using my web-ID, which I have taken a habit of using even IRL, he used my given name. However, what with the guy speaking English, he messed up my name completely. Ah well. At least I won myself a guest-list entry to a party, by cheating on an easter egg contest. I was supposed to be looking for a pic of some guy at some party, then check the flags on his jacket, and track down the province it represented. The province was supposed to be the one where the host was born, so I just Googled "DJ Plague", and checked his stats. That was easy, wasn't it. I'm glad it's on the Friday after Utrecht, that means I can actually go!

My thing was longer, but I don't really feel like writing it all again. So you'll just have to deal with a short post for the day. Sorry!

See ya!

Time-shaped day

Okay, so I only have a small amount of time to post this again - today I finally got home at 22:45. I got summoned once again, and being the no-life guy I am, I had nothing better to do than respond to the calls of people wanting to play Tetris Attack against me.

So that's what I did. Once I got there - we're talking VG-store here - I noticed that the person sending the distress call had enough company already without the need for me, but as I was there already, I decided to stick around. We ate there, and played for a bit - there was hardly any client-traffic, if you don't count us. And we stayed for quite a while.

After that, when it was finally time to leave, I figured I'd take the bus together with VB, as otherwise I'd have to walk home. Which I really didn't feel like doing at that hour of the evening. However, while VB was busy booting up her DS, the bus just zoomed by, which meant we had to walk all the way to the station... Which would have been fine by my standards, were it not that I was so damned tired. And you know the worst thing? Once I put her on her train, I walked the final part home, instead of taking the tram. Sometimes I just lament my inability to kick myself without falling over, for I really feel like doing so every once in a while.

Oh, and instead of saying "See ya later!", I said "See ya tomorrow!", which means that I'll have to go there again. Because I said so. Don't you just hate it when that happens?

With all that stuff going on, then, I didn't have a chance to check whether or not my cashier was back, today, either. So as far as organisation went, everything ended up time-shaped. And time, as Stephen Hawking stated, is shaped like a pear, just so you know. It was fun, but it didn't make any sense in my usual routine, that's all.

Anyways, I'll leave it here.

See ya!

Best wishes

Well, I also managed to wade through the Tuesday again. Now the rest of the week should be a proverbial walk in the proverbial park, as they say. We have a BBQ on Friday, so that's something to look forward to.

Besides that total lack of info on work - what else is new today? I planted one new link to my stalkers-list, as you may have seen. This guy has some pretty interesting thoughts as far as gaming's concerned, so not all of my readers will be as interested as I am, but hey, mom, it's my blog, okay?

There's still some other blogs waiting, but I'll have to give them some more time. I'm sorry about that, but that's just the way it's going to be for now.

My first day as a forum-mod was also amusing. I spend most of my time there rearranging their words, correcting spelling, grammar and interpunction. It's a dirty job, but a guy like me is perfect for that. I can't stand badly written texts, as you might have noticed. Even when I find a typo on a post from 3 weeks ago, I still take the time to correct it. I just can't stand it. Therefor, I now have to control myself not to go and correct everything on that forum. I just do, you know, the important bits (reviews, previews), and the badly written reams of text you sometimes see. Those are especially nasty, you know, the ones with no interpunction whatsoever where you can herdly see where every word - let alone phrase - begins and ends.

Today is also - apparently - the day our Linguist friend takes off for the States. I wish him the best of luck, and may we hear from him again soon - that'll be a good thing, as it should mean he settled rather quickly.

Other than that, well, I could bore you with my attempts to perfect a couple of tunes on Daigasso!, and how I somehow got stuck at a score of 99, but you don't care, do you? And besides, some people don't want to be reminded of my actually improving in that game...

So then, I'll quit here.

See ya!

Monday \o/

Well, one advantage of Mondays - you get them out of the way right at the start of a week. I went to bed too late yesterday - I only got home at, ooh, 00:30 or something. In those cases it's always nice to realise your alarm clock goes off in less than 5 hours, you know.

I woke up pretty well, though. It was only at around 14:00 that my skull went all "UGH" on me. Thank God it's Monday, eh? But hey, it's my own fault for messing up my tight bed-schedule, so I have to deal with it, right?

Predictably, my afternoon consisted of getting some of that much needed rest (I almost fell asleep on the couch!), before I went on my shopping trip. Like I said to jzz during our MSN chat about his Minesweepin' adventures, I think I'm gonna make a drawing of my cashier to paste on the milkcartons. Four weeks, it's just not funny anymore.

Other than that, even Daigasso! got little attention today. I played some while in the Tram, and I'll probably play some while in bed just now, but I'm just too tired to make a real effort about it today. I did beat some more scores on Ama, though. I still don't feel quite comfortable in Pro.

Later tonight, I got invited to mod a forum filled with less than a dozen teens. Erm... That sounded bad, didn't it? It's some guy that started another VG-forum, and he asked me. I think I'll humour them, and see how long I can take it there before I totally freak out, it might be funny.

I might be putting up some more links soon in the stalked list - I ran across some good ones recently. But you'll notice that when the time is ripe. As you may have seen, Ghost Writer's gone. I'm waiting to see, if that blog reanimates it'll probably come back. It was a good one, and a shame he stopped, but that's his right as a blogger, too.

I found this online radiostation as well. Only thing is, the stream has a tendency of freezing up from time to time. Which is rather nasty. Anyways, if you wanted to know what my musical tastes are, just to know why neighbours and colleagues always complain about it, now you can. Just click the Hardcore Radio Banner in the top-right corner. And then marvel at the fact that a guy that listens to this kind of music can genuinely enjoy a bit of uber-happy Nintendo gaming!

But I'll leave you with just that, okay?

See ya!

Blank

Well, today was one of those days where I did absolutely nothing. I mean that for a fact, actually. Which is why I'm having a lot of trouble to think up stuff to write.

The weather was too bad to go out and do something, so I didn't feel the need to. I didn't feel like going out in the rain, and everything would be closed anyways.

So I spent most of the day on the 'net and playing Daigasso!, which you must all be getting very tired of by now. I'm looking for online sheet-music so I can program my own songs in there, but not the regular kind. I'm looking for VG souds or anime theme-tunes, those would be cool! Anyone know where to find them?

I'm currently at jzz's place, since he felt lonely tonight. We spent the night talking about nothing and watching TV, which was pleasant. But as you may have guessed, we didn't do anything spectacularly blogworthy either.

So I'll leave you with a shorter entry for the day, then, and hope to see you all again tomorrow.

See ya!

Bikes and Karts

Weekend is finally here! I slept in, of course. That just had to be done, right? Firstreal thing I did today was pass my fifth amateur level Recording Ticket in Daigasso!, which gave me the ability to make my own tunes. It also deleted my record, made me start anew on a harder level, with only the 1 star songs unlocked, so I had to pass the first pro-level Recording Ticket to unlock some more tunes. This second thing was a rather nasty surprise I wasn't ready for. But it gives me a reason to train some more - I want my songs back!

Ooh, I found out how it works! I can get back to amateur level on the title screen... I wouldn't have panicked if my Japanese was a bit better, though. That's the only disadvantage to import gaming - the language barrier.

I also took my bike to the doctor, then. For the price of 10-15 newly stolen bikes, he's getting a major overhaul. I'll go and pick it up next Saturday - if I don't forget. I was prepared for a price like that, but it's still a lot. Ah well, it'll save me a lot of trouble in the future.

And then there was the karting trip, which is the reason this post is up slightly late. I got home at 23:25, and still had to write this last bit. It was fun - there were 7 of us, one of whom had never done it before. We were all pretty close on the first heat, but the second was just too crowded for my liking, as there was another group of 5 or 6 added to ours. Anyways, I enjoyed myself.

But before it gets too late, I leave you here.

See ya!

zenzi's, zpam & ztuff

I guess this is where we say TGIF, isn't it? Well, I'm glad I got another week out of the way, as I badly need my sleep in the morning-time. It's funny how sleeping an extra 30 minutes in the morning makes a bigger difference than sleeping an extra 90 minutes at night. I hope to be able to sleep in tomorrow. Around 08:00-09:00-ish sounds like a good time to wake up (ha!) these days, what with getting out of bed at excruciatingly evil times every workday.

Being Friday, I stuck around a bit again, especially since I was promised a ride to the tram-station, which would save me the trouble of walking. We spent about half an hour talking about the past week, previous jobs, the upcoming events and some more minor stuff. I was also told the way to another station, which should in theory cut about 10-15 minutes off of my travel time by public transport, allowing me to leave home a bit later.

On the way back home I ran into my acrossies, as they were going shopping. I joined them, as I was planning to do some shopping anyways, but I knew it would be too early for my cashier to be there - or, that's the way it used to be. I still haven't seen her since July 18th. Damn, it's been that long already? That's almost an entire month!

Tomorrow will see me going karting - I got asked by manece, and I'm not letting a thing like that pass by, that's for sure! But before I go there, I must take my bicycle to the doctor, as he's in need of some serious surgery. I'll probably have to leave him there for a while, but that's okay. I think my bike's old enough to take care of himself and he shouldn't be afraid of the doctor anymore either.

Other than that, what else can I throw in your direction today? Ah yes! Faerie's gotten herself a new job! It's all posted in her weblog - be sure to congratulate her on your way out - it'll only take you a couple of jiffy's!

Some other things you don't care about: the zenzizenzizenzic of 2 is 256. I bet you've always wanted to know that, didn't you? As for 2's zenzicube, well, that one is for you to find out!

What else can I tell you? It's hard to come up with useless stuff to write down everyday, you know. Let's see... I have Quincy, Shari, Marcia, Brady, Eli, Jane and Inez promissing me to have it "up in 18 minutes" on my old e-mail. They call that "faster erections". Seeing as ho it's women apparently sending those mails, getting an erection within 18 minutes must be a major improvement in their case. Anyways, it's nice to know someone cares...

I guess I'll better leave it here for the day.

See ya!

Nothing special - I mean it!

Today, then. What can I say about today? No seriously. What? Because i don't really know right now, you know...

I managed to wake up slightly better than yesterday, but that might be due to a more relaxing evening than last Tuesday's little thing. For starters, I didn't come home at 22:50 yesterday. Which probably helped, because I didn't need to rush my blog, my forum activities and so on and so on. I did once again skip my planned GM-session, but I've been working on that for a bit tonight, and come next weekend I'll spend some more time on it, I promise!

This meant that work was slightly easier than yesterday. Although waking up this early - well, you know the story. We're currently getting ready for a computer-thing in Amsterdam, one week before our own event which will be in Utrecht. So the real fun should start in, say, a week or so. Untill then, I can calmly go about my business.

After that, once I got home, having played Daigasso! on the way back, of course - the advantage of portable systems - I did need some time to get my strength back up. I did a quick spin in the local shopping center, bought myself some cheap DVD's, and that's pretty much it. So I'll have to think of some other stuff to write down in order to fill this post some more.

Oh, by the way, I just noticed I didn't answer PM's question in my response-comment. Please, leave the link as it is, it will save people the hassle of that annoying publicity they give you on your free domain. Like I said, it's just a name-hoging thing right now. I'll see what I'll do with it in the future, but for now, I just wanted it secure. Not that anyone but me would register a name like that, but hey, safety first, right?

Okay, what can I tell you about, then? Ah! Did you know: A jiffy is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second. Thus the saying, I will be there in a jiffy. (Source: www.amusingfacts.com)

That means the current World Record for the 100 m Dash - ratification pending - is set at 977 jiffy's for men (Asafa Powell), a full 72 Jiffy's faster than the women's record (Florence Griffith-Joyner - in '88). By the way, strolling past those records on www.iaaf.org, I noticed they had records for:
  • 10,000 m & 10 km
  • 25,000 m & 25 km
  • 30,000 m & 30 km
They have the same thing for the Racewalk distances. If anyone can tell me what all that is about, be my guest.

So, then, what else do we have time for today? I'm at a loss, actually. No more inspiration from me. I'll see what I can do on tomorrow's post.

See ya!

Title coming when I get a good one

Well, today was another one of those days. I wasn't awake when I started work, so I had to do my stuff in zombie-mode this morning. Luckily, they didn't seem to mind. It was just 'one of those days', but only 'till about 09:00. After that, everything was back to normal.

So besides those first 5400 seconds, my workday went on as per usual. So nothing new there.

When I got home, the first thing I noticed was that Gaia was locked up in my room. She must have gotten in there in the morn, and since I always close up, and, like I said, wasn't awake, I must have locked her in there.

After my afternoon web-session, I went to the shop again. I needed some supplies for tomorrow, and some minor things for tonight (mmm, sweet, sweet candy...). And I don't even want to mention it, but there's still no signs of life from my cashier... I don't know how much longer I'm gonna hold out without bursting into a homicidal rage, but I'll keep you posted on that as well. Just so you can get out of the way in time.

I registered www.simply-not-edible.tk today. For now, it only contains another link to my blog. I'll see how I can use it in the future. Maybe I'll put up my crappy GameMaker-Beta's there, so you can play some good for nothing games that I made. And I mean that, as I've only just started a couple of days ago. I have some help, though, and some ideas that to me seem pretty, well, okay for a starter project, but I'll have to see about all that in the future.

Other than that, well, I can say I've tried working my way into Daigasso's Pro ranks twice, but failed miserably on both accounts. Those 5-star tunes are pretty easy to mess up, and when you start your final song knowing you have to make it perfect, you know you have a prblem. Those two bonus tracks are pretty nice to play as well, only one of them has this nasty habit of changing speed, and thus rhythm, twice! Which is rather hard if you've just gotten used to the speed you were going.

I also did some minor Divinity work. I've still dispatched a lvl. 9 Skeletal Conjuror today, which took me about 45 minutes with my necessary hit-and-run tactics. They've really found out how to mess with you by pitting you against monsters 5 levels superior to your possible maximum at that stage.

I'll jump into GameMaker some more tonight. I was planning on doing that yesterday, but due to unforeseen events, those plans got pushed back. Which is okay, as it's only a hobby. But that doesn't mean I don't want to get into it rather seriously, as I do.

But I digress. The main point is that nothing really important happened today. Work is fine. Cashier is missing. Same as the past week, then.

See ya!

Bytesize Entry

Only a short post today, as I'm running rather short on time. I just got home at 22:50...

For you see, after work, I got home at 17:00, and, while checking my online fora, I saw that I had been summoned. So I had to oblige. I went to visit the VG-store. This, thankfully gave me - and VB, lest we forget - the chance to try out 2 player Daigasso!. and unlocked those two secret tracks I had posted about earlier.

After closing hours, we went over to Madspunky's place to continue our little mess-up session over there, while our host was strolling around WoW. People seem to want me to get into that, but I'm affraid to start. I know I'll be addicted at a thing like that, and with the monthly fee for the servers (and this dying computer here), that'll be a bad thing.

So there you have it. The rest of the day was work, so no news besides this. I wish I had some more time, but I was caught by surprise this afternoon, and I didn't have any time to prepare anything else. So there you have it.

See ya!

Posts & Postability

After miraculously managing to wake up this morning, I actually managed to get to work as well. I felt rather tired this morning, but that was something I expected. I woke up pretty well during my trip to work, so that's okay.

We wrapped up our software order today, and moved on to classical literature in ppb format. Which are also nice. Due to contractual reasons, I won't go on about titles or writers here, but just think "Big Guns" as far as classical literature goes, and you're pretty much there.

That was "Big[space]Guns", not "Big'uns", by the way. Don't lose track now...

Once I got home, I tried contacting jzz on MSN for some GM questions, but I am sadly unable to get to him. Ah well.

I did some grocerie shopping. And to make a long story short - "I find their lack of cashiers... Disturbing..." I'm really getting ready to cry here. It's been three whole weeks, hasn't it? What's going on?

Back home, my sis went to take Gaia for a vaccination. I, in the meantime, did the cooking. After dinner, it was back tpo matters of importance: Daigasso!, in which I today passed the 5th recording ticket in Amateur level. I still have a long way to go, but I'm getting there!

Divinity also got some attention, for today I managed to kill that pesky lvl. 9 creature I was telling you about yesterday. I passed by the store, bought myself a bow, and sniped him to death guerilla-style. You know, hit and, as the Pythons would say, "Run Away!"

All this talk about videogames must be boring the socks off of you though. I really wish I could dedicate a long post to, for example, my cashier, but sadly, this is all I'm up to at the moment, and I can't very well go on and make stuff up, can I? It wouldn't be a Blog if I did. Or, well, it might be, but it wouldn't be my Blog. So then, this would be it.

Anyways, See ya!

Peace and quiet

Ahhh, Sunday. Or should that be Rainday? I was planning on going into town today, but, rain stopped those plans.

But I skipped a part. For today I started as calmly as I possibly could. I didn't leave my bed until around 11:00 this morning. All that because both my laptop and my DS are easily accessible from bed . I spent the largest part of my morning navigating subterranean dungeons filled with skeletons trying to kill me. I was shocked to find some lvl. 9 monsters roaming about, especially if you consider it's the first dungeon. My character's only at lvl. 4, and I don't know where else I can get some XP, since defeated enemies don't respawn.

So I took a breather on the incredibly addictive [you know the name], at which I noticed I am getting better. Yay!

The afternoon, then. Because of therain, I had to do something else. So, I decided to get into my recently downloaded Game Maker. I got their basic tutorial thingy up and running, but I want to tweak some, and I don't really know how to... It's something I'll have to look into. I'll have to ask jzz for some support.

Once my sis got back from work, we headed into the park for a photoshoot. It's on film, so don't expect them published over here anytime soon.

Other than that, well, I'm just glad I could spend my Sunday calmly. Which sadly also makes for a short entry. Here we go then.

See ya!

YAAAWN!

Well, I started off this weekend by getting myself that much needed sleep. After then getting some breakfast, I took off into town. I wanted to trade that t-shirt our guests gave me. It was a music-band t-shirt of a band I don't like, so there was no use for me hanging it in my cupboard never to wear it. I traded it in for one that I would wear.

The shop where they got it from is one where an old flame of mine works. This got me thinking: maybe I just have a thing for girls that work in shops. Ah well.

Once I got home, launched my li'l RPG that I got at work. It's looking mighty interesting, I'm afraid I'll be using a lot of my spare time on that one as well, even though I regularly paused that one to do a quick Daigasso!, as that game still keeps wanting me to play it.

So that would make for an uneventful day, in which I basically recovered from my first week at work. I needed this rest badly, since waking up early is not something I'm used to.

Anyways, that would then pretty much cover my day. I'm currently roaming through a dark dungeon beneath some village, clubbing some Skeletal Warriors, so I'm still quite busy. I'll keep you posted on developments, okay?

See ya!

Official Daigasso! Addict

So today was, well, tough. Since last night my good fwiend jzz stayed over past my new bedtime, I had some difficulty getting out of bed in the morning. Which is why I felt like shit at work this morning. I'm still adjusting to my ungodly hours. But I don't like throwing him out either.

I managed to beat the 4th Recording Ticket in Daigasso!, yesterday, too. After two songs, my remaining margin of error was at 66%, I only needed a score of 61 to beat the thing. Then the last song played. I scored 62. I had only 3% remaining. Too tight for comfort. I'll train some more before I try the 5th.

Practice needed badly. Fingers completely twisted. Must... keep... practicing...

At work today I got a couple of games at a (with staff discount) very reasonable price. They came highly rated all over the net. I'll jump into them tomorrow. I can't wait to suck up into those nice little RPG's! For, you know, if there's any kind of game I can't get enough of, it's RPG's. Although, judging by Daigasso! (I have this feeling I'll keep on raving about this one for a while), M/R might just be making a climb. I already have DK Konga reserved, and I'll probably pick up DDR with Mario while I'm at the gameshop next time as well. But I'll have to see about that when I'm there. Maybe they'll be sold out.

Right now my two opposite neighbours are competing each other at Daigasso!, which, in case I haven't told you yet, is a great little piece of work.

But back to work. I stayed over there for a drink after work today, as it's Friday. For an hour and a half. I never did that at my old place. I was usually the first one out of there. Talk about a difference.

I watched some Crayon Shin Chan a couple of days ago. He was running around without his trousers on, as per usual. Although it was slightly edited. There was a black thingy over his private area with the word "gecensureerd" written in it. It extended about half a meter both sides of his body. It made for a well hung little kid, if that was supposed to "cover up".

Ah well. Enough rambling for today. It's weekend!

I'll see what I can come up with this weekend. I hope I can get some of that much needed sleep-thing I've been hearing people talk about.

See ya!

Short stuff!

Oooooh, this sucks! Yesterday's meme - Tracking underway! See, I told you this would happen! July 19, over here, both links and referrals to others stop. This sucks, because I somehow doubt this is not where this whole thing originated.

jzz should be coming over any minute now, so tonight's entry may just be shorter than you've been getting on average. We'll see what happens. One thing I do know is I'll show off Daigasso! to him - I have to make him buy a DS, and this is one of those things that might get him there.

Anyways, after the long stories of yesterday, I'll leave you alone tonight.

See ya!

Insert novelty title here

The day started with a challenge - my breakfast was being interrupted by an attention-seeking kitten. I had to throw her off my lap about 8 times before I had finished my first sandwich, go figure...

Today at work there saw us preparing for a PC-thing in a couple of weeks, one weekend before our own event. So there was a lot of messing around with software. Some things seemed pretty interesting, I'll have to do some more research to find if it's really worth considering. So that's the first thing I did when I got back home.

After that, it was time for some minor groceries. Now, our fridge is basically maxed out right now, but since I always go shopping on the same days (Mon, Wed, Fri and the occasional Sat), I figured I might as well check if the 'other usual business' was back in place. Now excuse me while I go cry in the corner. *Goes to corner* *Cries*

Basically, I've been dieing to tell my cashier about my new job (it might be a good way to ask her out to celebrate or something), but once again, disappointment was my reward. I really can't wait to see her again, right to the point that I actually ran after her in my dream last night...

It's funny how you don't always remember your dreams, or only specific parts of it. I remember I was standing on a bridge somewhere in town - or at least I recognized the bridge, the background was different. I was talking to someone. I don't know what we said or whom it was, but then she passed by on her bike, looked at me, and I immediately dashed after her. She saw me following, and stopped. I think at some point I crossed a road or something, but I don't know for sure. Once I caught up, she just said, in that sweet, sweet voice of hers: "Hey! Long time no see!", or, well some Dutch equivalent of that. I said something (I don't remember what), and then asked her "Where have you been?". I know she answered. I just can't remember what it was she said...

I would have known where to look for her...

Other than that - WOW, what a calm all of a sudden in our little crib/house/place*. Now that the guests are gone, even the cat seems to have settled down. She was constantly being picked up by their daughter, and even though she tried to flee often, that girl just kept running after poor li'l Gaia. Now she can sleep once more in all those non-sensical poses of hers. You know, folded u on herself, with two paws sticking up into the air, for example.

Did I mention the tremendous downpour I had the moment I left work, by the way? I was completely soaked by the time I got into the tram. Luckily my Daigasso! carrying DS survived and I was able to play some more on the way home. Did I mention I love that game, by the way?

Am I rambling again? I fear my recent chronology problems may also be worsening...

I think I lost my logical-telling-order skills. Heck, it seems like I've lost all logic whatsoever right now. I guess I should stop this post before anything bad happens.

See ya!

Tragedy!

Okay, just a small post today. This is the last day our guests are around, so I'll have some more time to get into lengthy details again starting tomorrow.

This morning, I appear to have lost my DS-stylus in the tram - while messing up playing Daigasso! it's pretty useful for navigating the menu's, but when in music-making mode I chew on it. I must have misplaced or dropped it somehow this morning though...

Speaking of Daigasso!, I got through to the third level yesterday night. I can now play almost all the tunes. Now, all I need is a second player - you know who you are - so we can unlock the extra tunes you get after a multiplayer session. But I'll get back on that through other means.

Work was slightly more varied than the continuous cleaning from yesterday - I got to unpack some **CENSORED** for **CENSORED**. Oh, I have a non-disclosure thingy in my contract, as well. Did I forget to mention? I can't talk about anything technically job-related in a place where any competitors may find anything.

So after work, I got home. As we all do, I guess. Well, most of us anyways. At home, it was basically a lot of chatter. So not much interesting after that.

See? I told you this'd be a short post? No unnecessary tidbits of info today - except, that is, for all that stuff I try to spam the 'net with on a daily basis, which is my life.

See ya!

July Ego Trip + First day at job

First things first: The All-July Ego Trip!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

See how, once again, the first Sunday of the month was greeted by only the single visitor? Yes, I know, the pic isn't all that clear, but just take my word for it, okay? That's a thing I want to get rid of as soon as possible. My total hit-count was 597, with the peak immediately after that bloody interview-meme-thing. I also was lucky enough to be able to positively I.D. my 1.000th visitor since the installation of my counter: Linguist-in-Waiting, a Winner is You! You get a kiss!

As for visitor-background, I got 4 new countries since my last list - Oman, Hong Kong, the Philippines and New Zealand. Some of them stuck around. The weirdo tracking me through "Oman Fuck", however, never appeared again. I must have been a disapointment to him, somehow. Can't figure why, exactly...

But all this rambling about stuff like this must be boring those who want to know about the big news of the day, namely, my first day at work. I bet you all want to know what happened! Well, [Had-to-be-there] It was just... Ooh! And when that thing... And then...[/had-to-be-there]

Anyways, as I was saying, today was my first day at my new job. I'm glad to be at work again. And it's an easy starter - today we started cleaning the place up, with the small group that was present. And whereas cleaning in itself may not be all that interesting, working together like that gives you a great opportunity to get to know your co-workers, and, on top of that, you also quickly learn where you can find which kind of book. It's like a gentle introduction to the lay-out, because all the books get moved around a lot to be able to clean the planks they're on.

I'm also very glad to be quickly received as "one of the guys", I feel right at home around these people. And whereas I can't promise there will be no ranting in the future, I can say that I feel this group is one I could stick around in for a while.

I was very happy also to be back at home at 17:00. It gave me the oportunity to chill a bit before going to the store. Which, by the way, was cashier-less once again...

I also found this weird publicity stunt from Page Toilet Papers. Let me elaborate:

To get the mighty sum of € 3,- on your bank account, you must first buy a pack of 24, then buy 4 packs of 8 rolls. Before the end of November, you should send the UAC's to the producers. In other words, you should use, say, 56 rolls of TP in 4 months. If you manage that, you don't need the € 3,- , you need a doctor!

Other then that... Well, I do believe this post has gone on for long enough now.

See ya!
